Introduction of UP Unemployment Allowance Scheme: A Brief Insight
- Large section of population in Uttar Pradesh is the Young Educated Youth.
- Most them are preparing for competitive exams to secure their future.
- While preparing, students/ youths have to manage their expenses gently so that there would not be a overburden on their family.
- They don’t have any source of income and they have to depend on their families all the time till they crack an exam or found a job.
- So to decrease the burden of their family and to support youths of Uttar Pradesh while they are preparing, Government of Uttar Pradesh took very important step toward this.
- Government of Uttar Pradesh started Unemployment Allowance Scheme for the educated but unemployed youth of Uttar Pradesh.
- It was started in the year 2012.
- Uttar Pradesh Unemployment Allowance Scheme is also known as “Uttar Pradesh Berozgaari Bhatta Yojana” or “Uttar Pradesh Berojgaari Bhatta Yojana”.
- Uttar Pradesh Employment Department is the responsible department of this scheme.
- The main objective behind launching this scheme is to provide financial support to unemployed youths of state till they find a job.
- Under Uttar Pradesh Unemployment Allowance Scheme, Uttar Pradesh Government will provide monthly financial assistance in the form of unemployment allowance to the educated but unemployed youth of Uttar Pradesh.
- Unemployment Allowance of Rs. 1,000/- per month will be provided to eligible youth of Uttar Pradesh State.
- Beneficiaries can spend this assistance on those expenses which incurred at the of searching a job.
- Minimum Class 10th as an educational qualification is required to apply for unemployment allowance.
- The Age of Applicant at the time of applying for monthly financial assistance should be between 25 Years to 40 Years.
- Only those Applicant’s are eligible to apply whose family annual income is not more than Rs. 36,000/-. (Thirty Six Thousand Rupees Only)
- It is mandatory for the Applicant to be registered in any District Employment Exchange of Uttar Pradesh.
- Eligible Educated but Unemployed Youth of Uttar Pradesh can avail the benefit of Monthly Unemployment Allowance by filling the Application Form of UPUnemployment Allowance Scheme.

Eligibility Conditions Required to be Fulfilled
- The following Eligibility Conditions is set by Government of Uttar Pradesh to avail the benefit of Monthly Unemployment Allowance under Uttar Pradesh Unemployment Allowance Scheme :-
- Permanent Residents of Uttar Pradesh
- Applicant Should be Unemployed.
- Age of Applicant Should be between 25 Years to 40 Years.
- Applicant Should be 10th Passed or More.
- The Annual Family Income Should be below Rs. 36,000/- (Thirty Six Thousand Rupees Only)
- Applicant Should be Registered in any District Employment Exchange of Uttar Pradesh.

- Domicile/ Residence Proof of Uttar Pradesh.
- Aadhar Card of Applicant.
- Income Certificate of Applicant’s Family.
- Applicant’s Class 10th Marksheet.
- Applicant’s Class 10th Certificate.
- Caste Certificate of Applicant. (If Applicable)
- Bank Account Details.
- 2 Self Address Written Envelops Pasted with Rs. 25/- Postal Tickets.
How Beneficiaries Can Apply to Avail the Benefit of this Scheme
- The only way to apply for Monthly Unemployment Allowance under Uttar Pradesh Unemployment Allowance Scheme is through Offline Application Form.
- Application Form of Unemployment Allowance Scheme of Uttar Pradesh can be collected free of cost from the office of District Employment Exchange.
- Registration in District Employment Exchange is mandatory before applying for Monthly Unemployment Allowance.
- Applicant has to fill the details correctly in Application Form and attach all the required documents along with it.
- Application Form along with all the documents will be submitted in the office of that District Employment Exchange in which applicant is registered.
- 2 Self Address Written Envelopes pasted with Rs. 25/- postal tickets is also submitted with the application form.
- Application Form of Unemployment Allowance along with all the documents will be scrutinized by the District Employment Officer.
- If applicant found to be eligible for Unemployment Allowance then he/she will be informed through their given mobile number or email.
- After final selection of beneficiaries by the Uttar Pradesh Department of Employment, the monthly unemployment allowance will be transferred in the given bank account of the applicant every month.
