Introduction of Uttarakhand Mukhyamantri Bal Poshan Yojana: A Brief Insight

  • Uttarakhand Government started “Mukhyamantri Mahila Poshan Yojana” in which nutritious food items will be provided to pregnant and lactating mothers of the State.
  • Now to combat malnutrition among children, the Government of Uttarakhand started the “Mukhyamantri Bal Poshan Yojana”.
  • The main aim behind starting this scheme is to improve the nutritional status of children by providing them with nutritious food items per week.
  • Women Empowerment and Child Development Department of the Uttarakhand Government is the implementing department of this scheme.

Eligibility Conditions Required to be Fulfilled

  • Mothers of Children can register them under the Mukhyamantri Bal Poshan Yojana of the Uttarakhand Government by visiting the Anganwadi Centre.
  • Anganwadi Worker present at Anganwadi Centre will register all eligible beneficiary children who are between 3 years to 6 years in Mukhyamantri Bal Poshan Yojana.
  • Anganwadi Worker will then make a list of registered children and submit it online to the Women Empowerment and Child Development Department.
