Introduction of Uttarakhand Mukhyamantri Bal Poshan Yojana: A Brief Insight

• Uttarakhand Government started “Mukhyamantri Mahila Poshan Yojana” in which nutritious food items will be provided to pregnant and lactating mothers of the State.
• Now to combat malnutrition among children, the Government of Uttarakhand started the “Mukhyamantri Bal Poshan Yojana”.
• The main aim behind starting this scheme is to improve the nutritional status of children by providing them with nutritious food items per week.
• Women Empowerment and Child Development Department of the Uttarakhand Government is the implementing department of this scheme.
• The government will provide nutritional food items like Eggs and Banana Chips to all eligible children who are currently between the ages of 3 year to 6 years.
• Beneficiary Children will receive Eggs twice a week and banana chips twice a week under the Mukhyamantri Bal Poshan Yojana.
• Bananas will be provided to those children who do not eat eggs.

Benefits Provided to Eligible Beneficiaries

• 3 to 6 Years Children will get the below mentioned benefthe its from Uttarakhand Government under its Mukhyamantri Bal Poshan Yojana :-
  • Nutritious Food Items will be provided to children.
  • Eggs will be provided twice a week.
  • Banana Chips will be provided twice a week.
  • Bananas will be provided to those children who do not eat eggs.

Eligibility Conditions Required to be Fulfilled

• Government of Uttarakhand will provide eggs twice a week and banana chips twice a week to those eligible beneficiaries who fulfil the following eligibility criteria of the Government of Uttarakhand’s Mukhyamantri Bal Poshan Yojana :-
  • Children whose age is between 3 years to 6 years are Eligible.
  • The mother of the Beneficiary Children should be a Permanent Resident of Uttarakhand.

• Beneficiary Mother will have to submit the following documents at the Anganwadi Centre to register her child under the Mukhyamantri Bal Poshan Yojana of the Uttarakhand Government :-
  • Birth Certificate of Child.
  • Mother Aadhaar Card.
  • Aadhaar Card of Child. (If Available)

How Beneficiaries Can Apply to Avail the Benefit of this Scheme

• Mothers of Children can register them under the Mukhyamantri Bal Poshan Yojana of the Uttarakhand Government by visiting the Anganwadi Centre.
• Anganwadi Worker present at Anganwadi Centre will register all eligible beneficiary children who are between 3 years to 6 years in Mukhyamantri Bal Poshan Yojana.
• Anganwadi Worker will then make a list of registered children and submit it online to the Women Empowerment and Child Development Department.
• Beneficiary Children will get Eggs on 2 Days and Banana Chips on 2 Days in a week.
• Bananas will be provided to those children who do not eat eggs.
• Anganwadi Worker will capture the details through biometrics every time delivering the eggs and banana chips to the beneficiary children.
• At present, there is no Online Application Form available for the Mukhyamantri Bal Poshan Scheme.
• Registration in the scheme and delivery of rations to children will be distributed through Anganwadi Centres.
