Introduction of West Bengal Yogyashree Scheme: A Brief Insight
- West Bengal Government launched the Yogyashree Scheme in the state in 2021-2022.
- The main objective of the government behind starting this scheme is to support the meritorious students and provide them a platform so that they can prepare for the competitive examination better and build their career.
- Government of West Bengal’s SC, ST & OBC Development and Financial Corporation is the implementing agency of the Yogyasree Scheme.
- West Bengal Government, through its District Training Centres, will arrange the free coaching facilities for students who are interested in preparing for JEE, NEET or WBJEE.
- Coaching provided under the Yogyashree Scheme to students is completely free of cost, no amount of fees will have to be charged from the selected students.
- The government selected 5,000 students from the Scheduled Caste, Scheduled Tribe, Other Backwards Class, Minority and General categories and enrolled them under coaching centres which help them to prepare for JEE, WBJEE and NEET examinations.
- Science Stream Students who are currently in Class 11th and whose families’ annual income is not more than Rs. 3 lakh per year are eligible to apply for coaching under the Yogyashree Scheme.
- The government also sets some minimum educational qualification criteria in which SC Student required 60%, SC Student required 50%, OBC Student required 65%, and General/ Minority Students are required 70% minimum marks in their previous examination.
- Application is live for the Yogyashree Scheme, and eligible students can apply online or offline till 24th of December 2025.
- Online Application Form is available on the Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes and Other Backward Classes Development and Finance Corporation and Offline Form can also be downloaded from this very website.
- Beneficiary Students can also apply for the “Student Credit Card Scheme” in which educational loan and life insurance cover will be provided by the West Bengal Government.

Benefits Provided to Eligible Beneficiaries
- West Bengal Government under its Yogyashree Scheme will provide the following benefits to all eligible and selected students :-
- Free Coaching for Competitive Examination will be provided to students.
- Students will receive free coaching for NEET, JEE and WBJEE and Other Government Services Examination.
- Selected Students will also receive a monthly stipend of Rs. 300/-.
- Books, Notes, and other study material will also be provided along with Motivational Counselling.
Eligibility Conditions Required to be Fulfilled
- Free of Cost Coaching for NEET, WBJEE and JEE, along with a monthly stipend of Rs. 300/- will be provided to only those students who fulfil the following eligibility criteria of West Bengal Government’s Yogyashree Scheme :-
- Permanent Resident Students of West Bengal are eligible to apply.
- The student should be currently studying in Class 11th from the Science Stream.
- Beneficiary Student should have secured the following minimum marks in their previous examination :-
- For Scheduled Caste :- 60%.
- For Scheduled Tribe :- 50%.
- For Other Backward Class :- 65%.
- For General and Minority :- 70%.
- Beneficiary Student should be belong to any one of the following categories:-
- General.
- Scheduled Caste.
- Scheduled Tribe.
- Other Backward Class.
- Minority.
- The Annual Family Income of a Student should be below Rs. 3,00,000/- per year.
Documents Required to be Attached
- The documents that will be required to attach with the application form or upload on the portal at the time of applying for free coaching for NEET, JEE or WBJEE under the Yogyashree Scheme are :-
- One Passport Size Photo.
- Class 10th Marksheet.
- Caste Certificate Copy.
- Aadhaar Card of the student.
- Family Income Certificate/ Self Declaration.
- Bank Account Number with IFSC Code.
- Mobile Number.
- Email ID.
How Beneficiaries Can Apply to Avail the Benefit of this Scheme
- Students of Science Stream who are currently studying in Class 11th can apply under the Yogyashree Scheme of the West Bengal Government through 2 ways as mentioned below :-
- Through the Online Application Form.
- Through the Offline Application Form.
Online Application Process
- West Bengal Government’s Yogyashree Scheme Online Application Form is available on the Website of SC, ST & OBC Development and Financial Corporation.
- Open the Website and click on Apply Now, as soon as a pop-up appears.

- A new window will open in which Pre-Examination Training of SC, ST, General, OBC and Minority Community is written.
- Advertisement of the Yogyashree Scheme is also there, students can also read them to clear their eligibility criteria.
- Now, click on Apply Online to fill out the Online Application of the Yogyashri Scheme.

- A detailed Yogyashree Prakalpa Online Application Form will appear in front of the student.
- A first section of the form is Particulars of Student in which Name, DOB, Aadhaar, Address, Mobile Number, and Police Station will have to be filled correctly.
- Student will then have to fill in the Choice of Centre for Training, Preferred Location, Course Name for Training, Medium of Training and Class 10th Examination Details.

- In the next section of the online application form, the beneficiary student will have to fill in the Particulars of Parents/ Guardians as shown below in the image.

- Thereafter, fill in the Bank Details like Account Number, Bank Name, Branch Name and IFSC Code.

- The last section of the Yogya Shree Online Form is to upload all the documents as shown in the image below.

- Check all the filled details, enter the Captcha Code and click on the Submit Button to submit the Online Application Form of Yogyashree Scheme of the Government of West Bengal.
- The submitted application form will be verified by the respective officials of the department.
- Students selected for free coaching for JEE, NEET, or WBJEE will be informed through SMS or Email.
- Beneficiary Students will then join the classes for the course at their preferred location.
- The Yogyashree Scheme Application Status can be seen by logging in on the portal.
- The last date to apply for free coaching under the Yogyashree Scheme is 24-12-2025.
Offline Application Process
- Eligible Students can also apply offline to enrol themselves for free coaching for WBJEE, NEET or JEE under the West Bengal Government’s Yogya Shree Scheme.
- Collect the Yogyashree Scheme Offline Application Form from the District Training Centre or download it directly from the Website of SC, ST & OBC Development and Financial Corporation.
- Fill in the following information in the Application Form of Yogyashri Scheme :-
- Particulars of Student.
- Particulars of Parent/ Guardian.
- Bank Account Details of Students.
- Declaration on Family Income by Parent/ Guardian of the Applicant.
- Attach all the required documents to the application form.
- Submit the duly filled Yogyashree Scheme Application Form along with all the documents in the District Training Centre of your district or in the District Office of SC, ST and OBC Development and Finance Corporation.
- Respected Officials will scrutinise the received application form and documents and shortlist the eligible students.
- Students shortlisted for free coaching under the Yogyashree Scheme will be informed through SMS on their registered mobile number.
- Join the coaching classes established at the distinguished coaching centres and be prepared well for JEE, NEET or WBJEE.
