Introduction of Pyaari Didi Yojana: A Brief Insight

• Election Commission of India on 7th of January 2025 announced the election date of Delhi Assembly.
• Polling will be conducted on 5th of February 2025 and result will be announced on 8th of February 2025.
• Major Political Parties likes BJP, Congress and AAP started their campaign for elections.
• To woo voters and to secure their vote bank, Congress Party started announcing welfare scheme for the people of Delhi which can directly compete with the announcement of AAP.
• The recent major announcement as election promise of Congress Party is “Pyaari Didi Yojana” and “Jeevan Raksha Yojana”.
• Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister Sh. DK Shivkumar unveils the first election promise of Congress Party for women of Delhi.
• Congress Party promised that if they wins the upcoming assembly election of Delhi then they will start Pyaari Didi Yojana.
• All women beneficiaries will get monthly financial assistance of Rs. 2,500/- per month under Pyaari Didi Yojana.
• Rs. 400/- per month is more promised by Congress Party in this scheme then Aam Aadmi Party.
• Arvind Kejriwal led Aam Aadmi Party announced “Mukhyamantri Mahila Samman Yojana” in which financial assistance of Rs. 2,100/- per month will be provided to women, they even started registration of this scheme.
• While announcing this scheme, Congress Party said that they are bound to fulfill their promise to start Pyaari Didi Yojana in Delhi after winning election like they already started “Gruha Lakshmi Scheme” in Karnataka and “Mahalakshmi Scheme” in Telangana.
• Whereas Aam Aadmi Party announced some other election promises also such as “Sanjeevani Yojana” in which free of cost treatment in Government and Private Hospital will be provided and “Pujari Granthi Samman Yojana” in which monthly financial assistance of Rs. 18,000/- per month will be provided to Pujari and Granthi of Delhi.
• So, the Congress Party is under lots of pressure to provide a much better guarantee then AAP in order to secure their win in the upcoming Delhi Assembly Election.
• Announcing Pyaari Didi Yojana can definitely turn some air in favor of Congress Party.

Benefits Provided to Eligible Beneficiaries

• If Congress Party will win the upcoming assembly election of Delhi then the Women Residents of Delhi will get the following benefits under Pyaari Didi Yojana :-
  • Monthly Financial Assistance will be Provided to Each Eligible Beneficiary.
  • Women Beneficiary will get Rs. 2,500/- per Month.

Eligibility Conditions Required to be Fulfilled

• Financial Assistance of Rs. 2,500/- per month under Pyaari Didi Yojana of Congress Party will only be provided to those women beneficiaries who fulfill the below mentioned eligibility conditions :-
  • Only Women Beneficiary are Eligble to Apply.
  • Women Beneficiary should be Permanent Resident of NCT Delhi.
  • Women Beneficiary Age should be between 18 years to 60 years.
  • Remaining Eligibility Conditions will be released after its launch.

Documents Required to be Attached

• The expected documents which will be required at the time of applying for financial assistance of Rs. 2,500/- per month under Pyaari Didi Yojana are as follows :-
  • Residence Proof of Delhi.
  • Beneficiary Aadhar Card.
  • Voter Identity Card.
  • Bank Account Number with IFSC Code.
  • Mobile Number.
  • Income Certificate or Self Declaration.

How Beneficiaries Can Avail the Benefit of this Scheme

• Pyaari Didi Yojana is just a pre-poll promise of Congress Party to woo the voters.
• This pre election promise will only completed if Congress Party somehow wins the upcoming Delhi Assembly Election and formed the Government.
• So at this moment talking about the application process of this scheme is not fair.
• It totally depends on the Congress Government to accept Application Form of Pyaari Didi Yojana through Online Application Form or through Offline Application Form.
• If the application mode is online then there might be a possibility that Website of Pyaari Didi Yojana will be launched.
• However if application mode is offline then Offline Application Form will be available at District Offices of Women and Child Development Department.
• As of now all women beneficiaries will have to wait till election gets over in order to get the benefit of monthly financial assistance of Rs. 2,500/-.
• The result of Delhi Assembly Election will be announced on 8th of February 2024.
