Introduction of Rupashree Prakalpa: A Brief Insight
- We all know that there is a lot of money needed in a marriage ceremony.
- And if the marriage is of girl then we can not expect the expenses about to incurred.
- Lots of families faces fund crunch to happily conduct the marriage of girl.
- To support this low income family group, Government of West Bengal started Rupashree Prakalpa.
- It was launched in April 1st, 2018.
- The main objective behind launching this scheme is to provide financial assistance to the Bride’s of West Bengal for their marriage.
- West Bengal’s Women and Child and Social Welfare Department is the nodal department of Rupashree Prakalpa.
- This scheme is also called as “West Bengal Marriage Assistance Scheme” or “West Bengal Rupashree Scheme”.
- Rs. 25,000/- (Twenty Five Thousand Rupees Only) will be provide as a one time financial assistance to Bride of State under West Bengal Rupashree Prakalpa.
- Bride permanently residing in West Bengal are eligible to apply.
- The annual family income of bride’s family should not be more than Rs. 1,50,000/- (One Lakh Fifty Thousand Only).
- Financial Assistance under West Bengal Rupashree Prakalpa will be provided only for the first marriage of Bride.
- Age of Bride and Bride Groom should be 18 Years and 21 Years respectively.
- Eligible beneficiaries can apply for financial assistance under West Bengal’s Rupashree Prakalpa through Rupashree Prakalpa Offline Application Form.
- In case of any help or assistance required regarding Rupashree Prakalpa then beneficiaries can contact their nearest District Office of Women and Child Development Department.

Eligibility Conditions Required to Avail Benefits
- The below mentioned Eligibility Conditions is set by the Government of West Bengal to avail the benefit of Rupashree Prakalpa are as follows :-
- Bride should be resident of West Bengal :-
- Should be Born in West Bengal OR,
- Should be a resident of West Bengal for 5 Years.
- Age of Bride should be 18 Years or More.
- Age of Bride Groom should be 21 Years or More.
- The Annual Family Income of Bride should not be more than Rs. 1,50,000/- (One Lakh Fifity Thousands Only)
- Marriage of Bride should be her First Marriage.

What is the Application Procedure? Steps to Apply
- Bride or Bride Family can apply for financial assistance through Rupashree Prakalpa Application Form.
- Application Form for Rupashree Prakalpa will be collected free of cost from the offices of :-
- Block Development Officer. (Rural Area Limit)
- Sub Divisional Officer. (Municipal Area Limit)
- Commissioner of District. (Corporation Area Limit)
- Fill the Application Form properly and attached all the required documents.
- Once the Application Form is filled and all the Documents are attached, submit it in the office of :-
- Block Development Officer. (Rural Area Limit)
- Sub Divisional Officer. (Municipal Area Limit)
- Commissioner of District. (Corporation Area Limit)
- Application Form and Documents are subject to verification.
- Competent Officer will verify the application form and documents thoroughly.
- Once the Application Form is accepted, the financial assistance under Rupashree Prakalpa is transferred in the given bank account of Bride.
- Applicant can also track her Application Status of Rupashree Prakalpa by her application number at West Bengal Rupashree Prakalpa Portal.
Key Features of Scheme
- Application Form of Rupashree Prakalpa will be submitted by applicant before 30 days of marriage.
- Application Form submitted before 60 days of marriage will not be entertained.
- Financial Assistance under Rupashree Prakalpa will be transferred in the bank account of Bride 5 Days before the marriage.
- If applicant has any grievance related to the Rupashree Prakalpa, the he/she can be contact the office of Block Development Officer or Corporation Officer for help.
- Field Visit is also conducted by the official for physical verification.
