Introduction of Rajasthan Kisan Kaleva Yojana: A Brief Insight

• Rajasthan Government launched Apani Rasoi Yojana in the year 2009.
• Later, the Government revamped the scheme and renamed it as “Kisan Kaleva Yojana” (किसान कलेवा योजना) in the year 2014.
• It was observed by the government that farmers coming to the mandi to sell their agricultural produce had to spend the entire day there and often had to go far or outside the premises to find food.
• Keeping this issue faced by farmers in mind, the Rajasthan Government launched the Kisan Kaleva Yojana to provide affordable meals to farmers and other mandi members within the mandi premises.
• This scheme is implemented by the Directorate of Agriculture Marketing with the help of the Agriculture Marketing Board and Mandi Samitis.
• Nutritious Food at an affordable price will be provided to Farmers, Hammals, Palledars, and Tularas under the Kisan Kaleva Yojana of the Government of Rajasthan.
• Food Plate of 5 items at just Rs. 5/- will be served within the mandi premises to all eligible people.
• Food Plate served under Kisan Kaleva Yojana consists 8 Chapati, 1 Katori each of Dal and Sabzi, Gud in winters and Buttermilk in Summer.
• The original cost of per food plate is Rs. 40/-, out of which Rs. 5/- will be borne by the beneficiary and the remaining Rs. 35/- is a subsidy from Mandi Samiti, which will be reimbursed to the Kisan Kaleva Canteen operator.
• Food under the Kisan Kaleva Scheme will be disbursed after presenting the coupon, which can be collected from the entry gate of the mandi by farmers and from the office of the mandi samiti by hammals, palledars or tularas.
• The validity of the coupon issued under this scheme is for 24 hours.
• Contact the staff of Mandi Samiti in case any help or assistance is required regarding the Government of Rajasthan’s Kisan Kaleva Yojana.
• Farmers of Rajasthan can also apply for the PM Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana of the Central Government, in which financial assistance of Rs. 6,000/- per year will be provided and Mukhyamantri Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana of the Rajasthan Government in which financial assistance of Rs. 3,000/- per year will be provided.
• If farmers have livestock animals, then they can insure them under Mukhyamantri Mangla Pashu Bima Yojana.
• And multiple benefits like Prasuti Sahayata, Marriage Assistance, Medical Assistance and Scholarship to Students can be availed by registered hammals, palledar, and tularas of Rajasthan under Mahatma Jyotiba Phule Mandi Shramik Kalyan Yojana.

Benefits Provided to Eligible Beneficiaries

• Government of Rajasthan under its Kisan Kaleva Yojana will provide the following benefits to all farmers, palledars, tulara and hammals of Mandi :-
  

  Nutritious Food Plate at just Rs. 5/- will be provided in Mandi. Each Food Plate consists the following food items :- Chapati :- 8 (250 Gms Aata) Dal :- 1 Katori (125 Gms) Sabzi :- 1 Katori (125 Gms) Gud (Jaggery) :- 50 Gms (From October to March in Winters) Buttermilk :- 200 Ml. (From April to September in Summer)

Eligibility Conditions Required to be Fulfilled

• Nutritious Food Plate at just Rs. 5/- will be provided to only those beneficiaries who fulfill the following eligibility criteria of the Rajasthan Government’s Kisan Kaleva Yojana :-
  • Farmers who are coming to Mandis to sell their Agricultural crops.
  • Registered Hammal, Pattedar and Tulara of Mandi.

Documents Required to be Attached

• The following documents will be required to obtain the coupon of Kisan Kaleva Yojana under which a food plate at just Rs. 5/- will be provided :-
  • For Farmers :- Aadhaar Card or Any Identity Proof.
  • For Hammal, Palledar, Tulara :- Identity Card issued by Mandi Samiti.

How Beneficiaries Can Apply to Avail the Benefit of this Scheme

• There is no separate registration process or application process for the Kisan Kaleva Yojana of the Rajasthan Government is available.
• Food under this scheme will be served on a walk-in basis, subject to possession of a valid coupon.
• Food coupons under Kisan Kaleva Yojana will be distributed for just Rs. 5/- at the Mandi gate when the farmer’s vehicle is entering to sell their crop produce.
• 2 coupons per vehicle will be provided – one for the farmer and one for his assistant under the Rajasthan Government’s Kisan Kaleva Yojana.
• Farmer will then need to visit the canteen within the mandi premises, show the coupon to the staff and collect a nutritious food plate.
• Kisan Kaleva Staff will verify the validity of the coupon in the system before serving the food plate.
• Whereas, registered hammal, palledar or tulara can collect the Kisan Kaleva Coupon from the Mandi Committee Staff by presenting their identity card.
• Visit the Kisan Kaleva Canteen, present the coupon and avail the benefit of nutritious food at just Rs. 5/-.
