Introduction of Rajasthan Mukhyamantri Matritva Poshan Yojana (MMMPY): A Brief Insight

• The Mukhyamantri Matritva Poshan Yojana is a welfare scheme launched by the Government of Rajasthan to support pregnant women and improve the nutrition of mothers and young children.
• Earlier, this scheme was known as the Indira Gandhi Matritva Poshan Yojana, which was started by the previous government on 19 November 2020.
• Later, the name was changed, but the purpose of helping women and children remained the same.
• The scheme is currently being run by the Women and Child Development Department in collaboration with the Medical and Health Department of the Rajasthan Government.
• The main aim of this scheme is to make sure that pregnant women, breastfeeding mothers, and children up to 3 years of age stay healthy and get proper nutrition.
• To achieve this, the government provides financial support along with guidance related to nutrition and health.
• Under the Mukhyamantri Matritva Poshan Yojana of the Government of Rajasthan, a total financial assistance of Rs. 6,000/- is given to eligible pregnant women.
• This amount is directly transferred into the beneficiary’s bank account in three parts.
• First, Rs. 1,000/- is given when the pregnancy is registered during the initial check-up.
• Then, another Rs. 1,000/- is provided after the woman completes at least two antenatal (pre-delivery) check-ups.
• Finally, Rs. 4,000 is given after the birth of the child under the CM Matritva Poshan Yojana.
• The scheme is specially designed for women of Rajasthan State who are pregnant with their second child.
• However, if a woman is already registered under the Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojana then she cannot apply for the Rajasthan Government’s Mukhyamantri Matritva Poshan Yojana. (MMMPY)
• Similarly, if a woman had twins in her first pregnancy, or in case of remarriage, where either partner already has more than one child, then she will not be eligible to receive the benefits under this scheme.
• Applying for Mukhyamantri Matritva Poshan Yojana is also quite easy.
• Women just need to visit and contact their nearest Anganwadi worker, who will guide them through the registration process and help them understand all the required steps.
• More than 5 lakh pregnant women of Rajasthan received around Rs. 170/- crore under Mukhyamantri Matritva Poshan Yojana.
• Rajasthan Government is also providing the facility of free Sonography/ Ultrasound for pregnant women of the State under the MAA Voucher Yojana.
• Further, Women Applicants can also apply and receive the benefit of a nutritional kit under Mukhyamantri Suposhan Nutri-Kit Yojana in which a kit with nutritional items for the mother and child will be provided.

Benefits Provided to Eligible Beneficiaries

• Rajasthan Government through its Mukhyamantri Matritva Poshan Yojana will provide the following benefits to all eligible pregnant women who are expecting their second child :-
  • Financial Assistance of Rs. 6,000/- will be provided to pregnant women beneficiaries.
  • The Amount of Rs. 6,000/- will be transferred into the bank account of the beneficiary in 3 instalments.
  • The First Installment of Rs. 1,000/- will be released after the Registration of Pregnancy during the initial check-up.
  • The Second Instalment of Rs. 1,000/- will be released after completing the 2 Antenatal (Pre-Delivery) Check-Ups.
  • The Third Installment of Rs. 4,000/- will be released after the birth of the child.

Eligibility Conditions Required to be Fulfilled

• The benefit of financial assistance for conceiving a second child will be provided to only those pregnant women who fulfil the following eligibility criteria of Mukhyamantri Matritva Poshan Yojana of the Government of Rajasthan :-
  • Permanent Resident Women Applicant of Rajasthan is Eligible.
  • Women applicants should be Pregnant with their second child.
  • The beneficiary registered under the PM Matru Vandana Yojana is not eligible.

Ineligibility Conditions of the Scheme

• The benefits of Mukhyamantri Matritva Poshan Yojana will not be provided to those pregnant women who falls within any one of the below-mentioned categories :-
  • If a woman had twin children from her first pregnancy.
  • In case of remarriage, if either the husband or the wife already has more than one child from their previous marriage.
  • A woman beneficiary cannot receive the benefit from both “Mukhyamantri Matritva Poshan Yojana” and “Pradhanmantri Matru Vandana Yojana” at the same time.
  • Women who are employed in the Central/ State Government or any public sector undertaking.

Documents Required to be Attached

• You will be required to attach the documents mentioned below with the Application Form of Mukhyamantri Matritva Poshan Yojana at the time of applying :-
  • Family Jan Aadhaar Card or Bhamashah Card.
  • Women Applicant Aadhaar Card.
  • Bank Account Number with IFSC Code.
  • MAMTA Card or First ANC Checkup Report.
  • Mobile Number.

How Beneficiaries Can Apply to Avail the Benefit of this Scheme

• Women Beneficiary who wants to avail the benefit of the Rajasthan Government’s Mukhyamantri Matritva Poshan Yojana can apply through the Offline Application Form.
• The Application Form of Mukhyamantri Matritva Poshan Yojana can be collected free of cost from your nearest Anganwadi or ANM Workers Office.
• Visit the Anganwadi Worker Office and collect the Mukhyamantri Matritva Poshan Yojana Application Form.
• Fill in the information correctly as asked in the application form and attach all the required documents with it.
• Submit the duly filled application form along with all the documents to the same Anganwadi Office.
• The Anganwadi Worker will initially verify all the received Application Forms of CM Matritva Poshan Yojana.
• The eligible and selected women applicants’ application form will be forwarded by the Anganwadi Worker to the Office of the Medical and Health Department.
• Medical and Health Department Official will reverify the details of the selected women applicant and register her under Mukhyamantri Matritva Poshan Yojana by entering her details on the Rajasthan Government’s PCTS Portal.
• After successful registration, beneficiary women applicants will receive the amount of financial assistance directly in here bank account.
• Women applicants don’t have any need to apply separately to receive the installments of the Mukhyamantri Matritva Poshan Scheme of the Government of Rajasthan.
• The government will release the first instalment into the bank account of the beneficiary within 30 days of enrolment.
