Introduction of Andhra Pradesh Thalliki Vandanam Scheme: A Brief Insight
- The Telugu Desam Party-led Andhra Pradesh Government had implemented numerous welfare schemes prior to 2019.
- However, in 2019, the YSR Congress Party won the Andhra assembly election and closed or renamed all previous government schemes.
- Then, in the 2024 assembly election, the TDP announced six super schemes for the people of Andhra Pradesh, which are the “Annadatha Sukhibhava Scheme”, “Nirudyoga Bruthi Scheme”, “Deepam Scheme”, “Chandranna Bima Scheme”, “Aadabidda Nidhi Scheme”, and “Thalliki Vandanam Scheme”.
- Each scheme focused on uplifting the underprivileged category.
- Telugu Desam Party wins the Andhra Pradesh Assembly Election in the year 2024, forms the government and begins rolling out schemes for people in a phased manner.
- In this article, we are talking about the Thalliki Vandanam Scheme, which is going to be the most important educational scheme of Andhra Pradesh.
- The previous Government has the “Jagananna Amma Vodi Scheme” which has the same benefits.
- This scheme has been approved by the cabinet of government and has been launched in the whole of Andhra Pradesh from this very academic year.
- Thalliki Vandanam Scheme in Andhra Pradesh was launched on 12-06-2025.
- This scheme is mainly for students, and the main aim of starting this scheme is to make sure that no student leaves their education in the middle due to poverty or poor financial conditions.
- Andhra Pradesh Government will provide yearly financial assistance to students under this scheme.
- Students from Class 1st to Class 12th from Government or Private Schools are eligible to get financial assistance per year under the Thalliki Vandanam Scheme.
- Students will get Rs. 15,000/- per year in installments under the Thalliki Vandanam Scheme from Andhra Pradesh for their educational expenses.
- Mothers of Students will get this financial assistance directly into their bank accounts, and they will spend this amount on the education of their children.
- Andhra Pradesh Government has already disbursed the financial assistance of Thalliki Vandanam Pathakam to around 54,91,704 eligible students.
- The total number of eligible beneficiary students is 67,27,164 and the number of mothers is 42,69,459.
- For the year 2025-2026, the Government allocated Rs. 10,090 crore for the smooth implementation of the Thalliki Vandanam Scheme of the Government of Andhra Pradesh.
- Beneficiary Students cannot directly apply for financial assistance under the Thalliki Vandnam Scheme.
- School Education Department will collect the data of eligible students, make a list, and forward it for disbursement.

- The implementation of financial assistance under the Thalliki Vandanam Scheme will be scheduled by the Andhra Pradesh Government as per the schedule below:-

Benefits Provided to Eligible Beneficiaries
- Government of Andhra Pradesh will provide the following benefits to all students from Class 1st to Class 12th under the Thalliki Vandanam Scheme :-
- Yearly Scholarship will be provided to all Eligible Students.
- Students from Class 1st to Class 12th will get Rs. 15,000/- per Year.
- This Scholarship will be disbursed to Students in Installments, most probably every month.
Eligibility Conditions Required to be Fulfilled
- Yearly Financial Assistance of Rs. 15,000/- per year will be provided by the Andhra Pradesh Government to only those beneficiaries who fulfill the following eligibility criteria of the Thalliki Vandanam Scheme :-
- Only Students are Eligible to get this Scholarship.
- Students from Class 1st to Class 12th are Eligible.
- Students should be Permanent residents of Andhra Pradesh.
- Students should be studying in any one of schools :-
- Government Schools.
- Private Aided Schools.
- Private Unaided Schools.
- Junior Colleges.
- The Family Annual Income should be :-
- Rs. 10,000/- per month in Rural Areas.
- Rs. 12,000/- per month in Urban Areas.
- Having Rice Card in the name of at least one person in a family is required.
- The total family land holding should be :-
- Less than 3 Acres of Wet Land, OR
- Less than 10 Acres of Dry Land, OR
- Less than 10 Acres of Both the Lands Combined Together.
- Families having 4 4-wheeler vehicles (Except Taxi, Tractor, and Autos) are not Eligible.
- The Monthly Electricity Consumption of a Family should be less than 300 units per month.
- The Family should not own Municipal Property of 1000 Sq. Ft or more.
Ineligibility Conditions
- Andhra Pradesh Government also set some ineligibility criteria for Thalliki Vandanam Scheme which are mentioned below :-
- Family Monthly Income is more than Rs. 10,000/- in Rural Area and Rs. 12,000/- in Urban Area.
- The family has a four-wheeler.
- Income Tax Payer in a Family.
- Monthly Electricity Consumption is more than 300 units per month.
- Having Municipal Property of more than 1000 Sq. Ft area.
- Government Employee.
- Students of ITI or Polytechnic or IIIT Courses are not Eligible.
Documents Required to be Attached
- The following documents will have to be submitted by beneficiary students in their school in order to avail the benefit of financial assistance under the Thalliki Vandanam Scheme of the Andhra Pradesh Government :-
- Students’ Aadhaar Card.
- Students’ School Identity Card.
- Certificate of Caste from Authorised Signatory. (If Applicable)
- Family Income Certificate.
- Parents Aadhaar Card.
- Bank Account Number with IFSC Code.
- A color passport-size photo of the Student.
- Mobile Number and Email.
How Beneficiaries Can Apply to Avail the Benefit of this Scheme
- There is no need to directly apply for the Thalliki Vandanam Scheme of the Government of Andhra Pradesh.
- The school education department of the Andhra Pradesh Government will collect the Student Information like their Name, Aadhaar Number, Gender, Caste, School Name, Class etc and their Mother/ Guardian Details like Name, Aadhaar Number, Age and relationship with the student.
- The collected details will then be entered in the UDISE or the Official Portal of the Department which will be further verified by the Head of Institutions.
- Department will then make the List of Eligible and Ineligible Students by following the below-mentioned verification process :-
- Aadhaar Validation.
- Data Updation.
- Mother Child Mapping.
- Cross Verification.
- The list of Students Eligible and selected for the disbursement of payment under the Thalliki Vandanam Scheme will be displayed at every Gram Sachivalayam Office.
- Financial Assistance will then be transferred in the bank account of the mother or guardian of a child.
- Students whose names is not in the list of selected students can file their complaint/ grievance in Gram Sachivalayams.
- After re-verificatio,n the amount will be transferred in the bank account if found eligible.
