Introduction of Bihar Mukhyamantri Mahila Rojgar Yojana: A Brief Insight

• The Bihar Government launched numerous welfare schemes for the people of the State in 2025.
• The major announcements were the “Mukhyamantri Pratigya Yojana” for youths, the “Mukhyamantri Kalakar Pension Yojana” for senior artists, the “Mukhyamantri Divyang Udhyami Yojana “ for specially abled people, and the “Mukhyamantri Guru Shishya Parampara Yojana” for gurus and their disciples of rare art forms.
• On 29-08-2025, the Bihar Government’s cabinet took another move and approved Mukhyamantri Mahila Rojgar Yojana (मुख्यमंत्री महिला रोजगार योजना) for the women beneficiaries of the State.
• The main objective behind starting Mukhyamantri Mahila Rojgar Yojana is to encourage women beneficiaries of Bihar by providing them financial assistance so that they can start their self-employment business activity of their own choice.
• This scheme will be implemented by the Rural Development Department of the Bihar Government in collaboration with the Bihar State Rural Livelihood Promotion Society.
• Government will provide monetary assistance in a phased manner to all eligible women of the state under Mukhyamantri Mahila Rojgar Yojana.
• Rs. 10,000/- as a first installment will be provided to beneficiaries to start their own business of their own choice.
• Thereafter, the Government will do the assessment of the business of the woman after 6 months and provide further assistance of Rs. 2 lakh if needed.
• Chief Minister of Bihar Shri Nitish Kumar Ji states that from September onwards, the disbursement of the first installment of Rs. 10,000/- will start.
• Women Beneficiaries who is an active members of JEEViKA Self Help Group (SHG) are only eligible to apply for Chief Minister Mahila Rojgar Yojana of Bihar Government.
• Mukhyamantri Mahila Rojgar Yojana initiative of the Bihar Government will provide employment opportunities to women, which can help to increase the family income of the beneficiary.
• The government will also establish Haat Bazars at which woman beneficiaries can sell their products.
• Selected Beneficiaries will also receive Skill Training to promote and enhance their business.
• Rural Area Women Applicants can apply for Mahila Rojgar Yojana through Offline Application Form which is available in the office of JEEViKA Gram Sangathan.
• Urban Area Women Applicant can apply for this scheme online through the Mahila Rojgar Yojana Online Portal which is developed by the Bihar Rural Livelihood Promotion Society.
• Prime Minister of India Shri Narendra Modi launched Mukhyamantri Mahila Rojgar Yojana in Bihar through video conferencing on 26-09-2025.
• More than Rs. 7,500 crore has been transferred to the bank accounts of 75 lakh women beneficiaries, which is equivalent to Rs. 10,000 per woman.
• Chief Minister of Bihar Shri Nitish Kumar Ji transferred the first installment of Rs. 10,000/- under Mukhyamantri Mahila Rojgar Yojana into the bank account of 25 lakh women beneficiaries on 03-10-2025.
• On 06-10-2025, CM Nitish Kumar transferred another Rs. 2,100 crore to the bank accounts of 21 lakh women beneficiaries of the Mahila Rojgar Scheme.
• In the coming days, the remaining women beneficiaries will also receive the 1st instalment of Mukhyamantri Mahila Rojgar Yojana directly into their bank accounts.
• Bihar Mahila Rojgar Yojana 2025 List can be checked in the Office of Gram Sangathan.
• If any woman didn’t receive the payment of Rs. 10,000/- then she should check their Payment Status of Mahila Rojgar Yojana by visiting the Gram Sangathan Office.

List of Businesses Eligible under this Scheme

• The following are the businesses which can be started by women beneficiaries after availing the financial assistance of Rs. 10,000/- under Mukhyamantri Mahila Rojgar Yojana of the Bihar Government :-
  • Shop of Fruit, Juice, and Dairy Products.
  • Shop of Vegetables and Fruits.
  • General Store.
  • Shop pf Plastic Products/ Cutlery Shop. (Daily Use Items)
  • General Toy Shop.
  • Automobile Repair Shop.
  • Mobile Store, Mobile Repair or Mobile Recharge Shop.
  • Stationary or Photocopy Shop.
  • Shop of Food Items.
  • Beauty Parlor, Cosmetics and Artificial Jewelry Shop.
  • Cloth, Footwear or Tailoring Shop.
  • Electronics Items or Utensil Shop.
  • Agricultural Work.
  • E Rickshaw or Auto Rickshaw.
  • Goat Farming.
  • Poultry Farming.
  • Cow Dairy.
  • Any other Business Activity.

Benefits Provided to Eligible Beneficiaries

• Bihar Government will provide the following benefits to all eligible woman beneficiaries under its newly announced Mukhyamantri Mahila Rojgar Yojana :-
  • Financial Assistance will be provided to women applicants to start their own self-employment business activity.
  • Assistance of Rs. 10,000/- will be provided as a first instalment.
  • The woman’s Business Assessment will be done after 6 months.
  • After the Assessment, Additional Financial Assistance of Rs. 2,00,000/- will be provided on a per-need basis.
  • Haat Bazar (Market) will also be established to provide a platform to businesswomen to sell their products.
  • Skill Development Training will also be provided to the beneficiary women applicants.

Eligibility Conditions Required to be Fulfilled

• Financial Assistance of Rs. 10,000/- as a first instalment to start self-employment activity under Mukhyamantri Mahila Rojgar Yojana will be provided to those beneficiaries who fulfil the below-mentioned eligibility criteria of the scheme :-
  • Permanent Resident Women of Bihar are Eligible to Apply.
  • Benefits will apply to One Woman per Family.
  • Assessment of the Business will be done after 6 Months.
  • Women applicants should be members of the JEEViKA Self Help Group.
  • If any woman applicant is not a member of JEEVika Self Help Group, then she must join it first before applying.

Eligibility Conditions Required to Join JEEViKA Self-Help Group

• According to the guidelines of the Rural Development Department of the Bihar Government, it is mandatory for a women applicant to be a member of JEEVika Self Help Group to avail the benefits of Mukhyamantri Mahila Rojgar Yojana.
• If any women beneficiary is not a member of that SHG, then they can easily apply to become a member.
• The eligibility criteria to be a part of JEEViKA Self Help Group are mentioned below :-
  • The Age of Women applicants should be between 18 years to 60 years.
  • The woman applicant or her Husband should not be a taxpayer.
  • The woman applicant or Her Husband should not be in Government (Permanent or Contractual) Service.

• The documents that are required at the time of applying for financial assistance under Mukhyamantri Mahila Rojgar Yojana of the Bihar Government are mentioned below :-
  • Bihar Residence Proof.
  • Mobile Number.

How Beneficiaries Can Apply to Avail the Benefit of this Scheme

• Beneficiary Women Applicant of Rural and Urban Areas has a different application procedure. Here we are providing the complete application process of Mukhyamantri Mahila Rojgar Yojana of the Bihar Government for urban as well as rural areas.

Application Process for Rural Area Women Applicants

• Women applicants of Rural areas can apply for Rs. 10,000/- financial assistance as the first instalment under the Bihar Government’s Mukhyamantri Mahila Rojgar Yojana through Offline Application Form.
• Mukhyamantri Mahila Rojgar Yojana Application Form is available free of cost in the office of JEEViKA Mahila Gram Sangathan Office.
• Collect the Application Form from the office and fill in all the details correctly.
• Bihar CM Mahila Rojgar Yojana Application Form has three parts.
• In the second part, the applicant woman has to fill in the Name of the Business in which she is interested in starting.
• Women Beneficiaries will have to attach all the required documents with the Application Form of Mahila Rojgar Yojana.
• Submit a duly filled Application Form along with all the documents to the Office of JEEViKA Gram Mahila Sangathan.
• Gram Sanghathan will call all members meeting, verify the received application forms and give their initial approval for the disbursement of the first instalment of Rs. 10,000/-.
• The list of Selected Women applicants will be forwarded to the JEEViKA Prakhand Unit for further processing.
• The details of all women beneficiaries selected for financial assistance under Mukhyamantri Mahila Rojgar Yojana will be entered in the MIS Portal and further forwarded to JEEViKA District Unit.
• JEEViKA District Unit will verify all the entered details and forward the applications to the Headquarters of JEEViKA.
• JEEViKA Headquarters will then transfer the first instalment of Rs. 10,000/- as promised by the Bihar Government under Mukhyamantri Mahila Rojgar Yojana directly into the bank account of the women beneficiary.
• Here, JEEViKA refers to the Bihar Rural Livelihood Promotion Society.

Online Application Process for Urban Area Women Applicants

• Bihar Government launched the Official Website of Mukhyamantri Mahila Rojgar Yojana through which women applicants from urban areas can apply online for financial assistance of Rs. 10,000/-.
• Open the Bihar Mukhyamantri Mahila Rojgar Yojana Website and Click on Apply Online (आवेदन भरें).
  
• If any woman applicant is already a member of the Urban Self Help Group then she doesn’t need to apply online for the Mahila Rojgar Yojana of Bihar. She has to contact their ALO/ CRP.
  
• Those women who are not members of USHG will have to click on “Apply for Mukhyamantri Mahila Rojgar Yojana (Urban).
  
• Portal will again confirm from the Women Applicant that whether you are a member of Self Help Group or Not. Select No.
  
• Enter your Mobile Number, Name, Husband Name, and Aadhaar Card Number in the Bihar Mahila Rojgar Yojana 2025 Online Application Form.
  
• Portal will verify the Aadhaar Card Number and Mobile Number through OTP authentication.
• Upload the scanned copy of the Aadhaar Card, Bank Passbook, Photo and Signature on the website.
• Check the filled information and submit the Mahila Rojgar Yojana Bihar Online Application.
• Online Submitted Application Form will be scrutinised by the Officials of the Bihar Rural Livelihood Promotion Society.
• Final Decision on the disbursement of financial assistance will be taken by the Chief Executive Office of the Rural Livelihood Promotion Society of the Bihar Government.
• Financial Assistance of Rs. 10,000/- will be transferred in the bank account of the beneficiary woman applicant.
• Bihar Mahila Rojgar Yojana List can be checked by women beneficiaries by visiting the Gram Sangathan or JEEVika Office.

How to Apply to Join the JEEViKA Self-Help Group

• As we all know that, the Bihar Government has made it mandatory to be a member of JEEViKa Self Help Group (SHG) to avail the benefit of Rs. 10,000/- under Mukhyamantir Mahila Rojgar Yojana.
• So, those women who are not a part of SHG don’t have to worry as they can easily join it.
• Just take an Application Form from JEEViKA Mahila Gram Sangathan to join the Self Help Group.
• Fill it correctly, attach all the required documents and submit it in the same office.
• President and other members of the Self Help Group will verify the received application and grant a membership of SHG to eligible women beneficiaries.
• Once a woman applicant is registered in a Self-Help Group, she can apply for the Mukhyamantri Mahila Rozgar Yojana of the Bihar Government.

Payment Dates of Mahila Rojgar Yojana Bihar

• Bihar Government will release the payment of the first instalment of Rs. 10,000/- under Mukhyamantri Mahila Rojgar Yojana on specific dates. Such specific dates on which the amount will be released are mentioned below :-
