Introduction of Delhi Ladli Scheme: A Brief Insight

  • Delhi Ladli Scheme is a very important scheme of the Delhi Government for the Welfare of Girls.
  • Ladli Scheme was launched on 1st of January 2008.
  • This scheme is implemented by Delhi’s Department of Women and Child Development.
  • The main objective behind launching the Ladli Scheme is to provide financial assistance to the Girls of Delhi to encourage them for Higher Education.
  • The fund manager of the Ladli Scheme is State Bank Life Insurance Corporation Limited (SBIL).
  • Financial Assistance under the Ladli Scheme will be provided as a fixed-term deposit.
  • A girl can avail the benefit of the Ladli Scheme at two levels :-
    • At the Time of Birth.
    • At the Time of Admission on School.
  • It is mandatory to apply within 1 year of birth at the time of applying at the birth level.
  • The application under the Ladli Scheme will be subject to renewal at every stage.
  • The other popular name of this scheme is “Delhi Ladli Yojana”.
  • Eligible beneficiaries can apply under the Ladli Scheme in two ways :-
  • In case any help or assistance is required regarding the Ladli Scheme of the Delhi Government, beneficiary can visit their area District Office of the Women and Child Development Department.
  • Other major welfare schemes of the Delhi Government for students are “Mukhyamantri Digital Education Scheme”, “Mukhyamantri Vigyan Pratibha Pariksha Yojana” and “Mukhyamantri Vidyarthi Pratibha Scholarship Scheme”.

Benefits Provided to Eligible Beneficiaries

  • The following Financial Assistance will be provided to beneficiary girls under the Ladli Scheme of the Delhi Government:-
    Level of Financial Assistance Amount of Assistance
    Girl Child Delivery at Hospital. Rs. 11,000/-
    Girl Child Delivery at Home. Rs. 10,000/-
    When Admission is taken in Class 1st. Rs. 5,000/-
    When Admission is taken in Class 6th. Rs. 5,000/-
    When Admission is taken in Class 9th. Rs. 5,000/-
    When Admission is taken in Class 10th. Rs. 5,000/-
    When Admission is taken in Class 12th. Rs. 5,000/-

Eligibility Conditions Required to be Fulfilled

  • Financial Assistance under the Delhi Government’s Ladli Scheme will only be provided to those girls who fulfill the following eligibility criteria :-
    • Permanent Residents of Delhi OR,
    • The family should reside in Delhi for 3 Years.
    • The girl child’s Birth should be in Delhi.
    • Family Annual Income should not be more than Rs. 1,00,000/-.
    • Only 2 Girl children per Family are Eligible.

Documents Required to be Attached

  • There are two types of documents required at the time of applying for the Ladli Scheme :-
    • When the Girl is Registered for the Ladli Scheme at the Time of Her Birth.
    • Or When the Girl Child is Registered for the Ladli Scheme at the Time of Admission in School.
  • The following documents will be required for Ladli Scheme Registration at the Time of Girl’s Birth :-
    • Girl Child Aadhar Card.
    • Father or Mother Aadhar Card.
    • Caste Certificate.
    • Father, Mother and Child Joint Photograph.
    • Any one of 3 Year Residence Proof :-
      • Ration Card.
      • Water Bill.
      • Electricity Bill.
      • Voter ID Card.
      • Telephone Bill.
    • Girl Passport Size Photo.
    • Income Certificate or Self Declaration.
  • The following documents will be required for Ladli Scheme Registration at the Time of Girl Admission in School :-
    • Girl Child Aadhar Card.
    • Father or Mother Aadhar Card.
    • Caste Certificate.
    • Father, Mother and Child Joint Photograph.
    • Any one of 3 Year Residence Proof :-
      • Ration Card.
      • Water Bill.
      • Electricity Bill.
      • Voter ID Card.
      • Telephone Bill.
    • School Declaration.
    • Income Certificate or Self Declaration.

How Beneficiaries Can Apply to Avail the Benefit of this Scheme

Online Application Procedure of the Scheme

  • First Beneficiary has to visit the Online Portal of Delhi E District.
  • Open the Portal and Click on Apply.
    Choose Apply for Delhi Ladli Scheme
  • Click on Register thereafter.
    Click on Register for New User
  • This is the mandatory requirements which are needed to register online.
    Guidelines for Online Registration
  • Enter Your Aadhaar Card Number and Register Yourself.
    Select Aadhaar Card for Registration
  • The beneficiary has to Register himself/ herself.
  • After Registration Login in to the same portal with your User ID and Password.
  • Choose the Ladli Scheme from the Services Tab.
  • Fill in the personal details like :- Name, Address, and Child Details.
  • Upload the required documents like residence proof, Aadhar card etc.
  • And then click on submit.
  • Then the registration number is allotted to the applicant.
  • After verification, the financial assistance will be submitted in the name of the girl child according to the stage she applied.

Offline Application Procedure of the Scheme

When applying at the Time of Birth
  • The beneficiary can also apply for the Ladli Scheme through an Offline Application Form.
  • Take an Application Form from your nearest Women and Child Development Office.
  • Fill it properly and attach the requisite documents.
  • Submit it to the same office of Women and Child Development.
  • After Verification of Documents, the amount will be transferred to the State Bank of India Life Insurance Corporation to maintain the fund in the name of the girl child.
  • Here, the important thing is, it is mandatory to register the girl child within her 1 year of birth.
When applying at the School Level
  • If someone fails to register their girl child at the time of her birth, then they can register her under the Delhi Ladli Scheme in any of the below mentioned Class :-
    • When she takes Admission in Class 1st.
    • When she takes Admission in Class 6th.
    • When she takes Admission in Class 9th.
    • When she takes Admission in Class 10th.
    • When she takes Admission in Class 12th.
  • Take the Application Form from the Office of Women and Child Development or from a Government-recognized school.
  • Fill the Application Form and attach the required documents.
  • Get approval from the principal of the school.
  • And submit it to the Women and Child Development Office.
  • After Verification of Documents, the amount will be transferred to the State Bank of India Life Insurance Corporation to maintain the fund in the name of the girl child.

How to Check Ladli Money Online

  • Beneficiary Girl Student can check the Status of their Ladli Scheme Money Online through the SBI Life Group Customer Portal.
  • Visit the Group Customer Portal of SBI Life and Click on Login.

  • Click on “Don’t have a Mobile No. for Ladli Member? Login Here.
    Select Ladli Member Login
  • Thereafter, Enter the Group Member ID and Date of Birth and Click on Submit.

  • Current Amount Status of Delhi Ladli Scheme Money will come on screen.

Maturity Claim Procedure of Ladli Scheme

  • After a Girl attains the age of 18 years OR passes class 12th, then she is eligible to claim the Amount of the Ladli Scheme of the Government of Delhi.
  • The girl has to open her Zero Balance Bank Account in the SBI Branch.
  • Then she has to visit her District’s Women and Child Development Office.
  • Take the Delhi Ladli Scheme Maturity Claim Application Form from that office.
  • Fill it properly and attach the documents mentioned below:-
    • Photocopy of First Page of Bank Passbook.
    • A Crossed Blank Cheque.
    • State Bank Insurance Limited Issued Receipt in Original.
    • Marksheet of 10th or 12th.
  • Submit the Application Form and Document to the District Women and Child Development Office.
  • Application Form and Documents are subject to verification.
  • Once verified by officials, the financial assistance will be transferred to the bank account of the Girl.
