Introduction of Delhi Ladli Scheme: A Brief Insight
- Delhi Ladli Scheme is the very important scheme of Delhi Government for the Welfare of Girls.
- Ladli Scheme was started on 1st of January 2008.
- Operations of Ladli Scheme is taken care of by Delhi’s Department of Women and Child Development.
- The main objective behind launching Ladli Scheme is to provide financial assistance to the Girls of Delhi to encourage them for Higher Education.
- The fund manager of Ladli Scheme is State Bank Life Insurance Corporation Limited (SBIL).
- Financial Assistance under Ladli Scheme will be provided as Fixed Term Deposit.
- Girl can avail the benefit of Ladli Scheme at two levels :-
- At the Time of Birth.
- At the Time of Admission on School.
- It is mandatory to apply within 1 year of birth at the time of applying at birth level.
- The application under Ladli Scheme will be subject to renewal at every stage.
- Other major welfare scheme of Delhi Government for students are “Mukhyamantri Digital Education Scheme”, “Mukhyamantri Vigyan Pratibha Pariksha Yojana” and “Mukhyamantri Vidyarthi Pratibha Scholarship Scheme”.
- The other popular name of this scheme is “Delhi Ladli Yojana”.

Benefits Provided to Eligible Beneficiaries
- The following Financial Assistance will be provided under Ladli Scheme to the Girl Child :-
Level of Financial Assistance Amount of Financial Assistance Girl Child Delivery at Hospital. Rs. 11,000/- Girl Child Delivery at Home. Rs. 10,000/- When Admission taken in Class 1st. Rs. 5,000/- When Admission taken in Class 6th. Rs. 5,000/- When Admission taken in Class 9th. Rs. 5,000/- When Admission taken in Class 10th. Rs. 5,000/- When Admission taken in Class 12th. Rs. 5,000/-
Eligibility Conditions Required to be Fulfilled
- Financial Assistance under Delhi Government’s Ladli Scheme will only be provided to those girls who fulfill the following eligibility criteria :-
- Residents of Delhi.
- Family should be reside in Delhi for 3 Years.
- Girl Child Birth should be in Delhi.
- Family Annual Income should not be more than Rs. 1,00,000/-.
- Only 2 Girl Child per Family are Eligible.

- There are two types of documents required at the time of applying for Ladli Scheme :-
- When the Girl is Registered for Ladli Scheme at the Time of Her Birth.
- Or When the Girl Child is Registered for Ladli Scheme at the Time of Admission in School.
- The following documents will be required for Ladli Scheme Registration at the Time of Girl Birth :-
- Girl Child Aadhar Card.
- Father or Mother Aadhar Card.
- Caste Certificate.
- Father, Mother and Child Joint Photograph.
- Anyone of 3 Year Residence Proof :-
- Ration Card.
- Water Bill.
- Electricity Bill.
- Voter ID Card.
- Telephone Bill.
- Girl Passport Size Photo.
- Income Certificate or Self Declaration.
- The following documents will be required for Ladli Scheme Registration at the Time of Girl Admission in School :-
- Girl Child Aadhar Card.
- Father or Mother Aadhar Card.
- Caste Certificate.

Maturity Claim Procedure of Ladli Scheme
- After Girl attain the age of 18 years OR passed class 12th, then she is eligible to claim the Amount of Ladli Scheme.
- Girl has to open her Zero Balance Bank Account in SBI Branch.
- Then she has to visit her District’s Women and Child Development Office.
- Take Delhi Ladli Scheme Maturity Claim Application Form from that office.
- Fill it properly and attached the below mentioned documents :-
- Photocopy of First Page of Bank Passbook.
- A Crossed Blank Cheque.
- State Bank Insurance Limited Issued Receipt in Original.
- Marksheet of 10th or 12th.
- Submit the Application Form and Document in the District Women and Child Development Office.
- Application Form and Documents are subject to verification.
- Once verified by officials, the financial assistance will be transferred in the bank account of Girl.
