Introduction of Delhi Mukhyamantri Digital Education Scheme: A Brief Insight

• Assembly Elections of NCT of Delhi were concluded on 05-02-2025 and Bharatiya Janta Party after 26 years of long gap managed to win the Delhi assembly election.
• BJP had announced lots of pre-election promises as welfare schemes for the people of Delhi.
• The major election promise announcements was “Mukhyamantri Matritva Suraksha Yojana”, “Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Stipend Scheme”, “Atal Canteen Yojana” “Mahila Samriddhi Yojana” and “Mukhyamantri Kanyadaan Yojana”.
• In a step-by-step manner, the current BJP-led Delhi Government started to launch every single scheme in Delhi for all eligible beneficiaries.
• With an objective to encourage students to pursue higher education after class 12th and to support them digitally, a new scheme will going to be launched in Delhi.
• The name of the Scheme is “Mukhyamantri Digital Education Scheme” (मुख्यमंत्री डिजिटल शिक्षा योजना).
• This scheme will specifically focus on Students of Class 10^th who recently passed and want to pursue higher education.
• Delhi Government will provide free of cost laptops to all eligible class 10^th passed students under its Mukhyamantri Digital Education Scheme”.
• Students can use these laptops in their studies and make their education more advanced with the help of technology.
• Class 10^th Passed Meritorious/ Topper Students of Delhi are only eligible and receive free-of-cost advanced i7 laptops under the Government of Delhi’s Mukhyamantri Digital Education Scheme.
• On 22-07-2025, the Cabinet of the Delhi Government gave their approval to launch the Mukhyamantri Digital Education Scheme in Delhi.
• 1,200 meritorious/topper students is selected under the Delhi Government’s Chief Minister Digital Education Scheme for the year 2025-2026.
• Government of Delhi also allocated Rs. 7.5 crore for the smooth implementation of this scheme.
• Class 10^th Passed Meritorious Students will have to wait till the official launch of the Mukhyamantri Digital Education Scheme in order to receive free laptops.
• This scheme is going to be known by other popular names also which are “Chief Minister Digital Education Scheme Delhi” or “Mukhyamantri Digital Education Yojana Delhi” or “Chief Minister Digital Education Yojana Delhi”.

Benefits Provided to Eligible Beneficiaries

• Delhi Government under its Mukhyamantri Digital Education Scheme will provide the following benefits to Class 10^th Passed Meritorious Students :-
  • Free of Cost Laptops will be provided.
  • Meritorious Students who passed Class 10^th will get Free Laptops.

Eligibility Conditions Required to be Fulfilled

• Free of Cost Laptops will be provided to only those students of Delhi who fulfil the following eligibility criteria of Mukhyamantri Digital Education Scheme :-
  • Permanent Resident Students of Delhi are Eligible.
  • The student should have passed Class 10^th.
  • The student should be a Meritorious/ Topper One.
  • The remaining Eligibility Criteria will be released after its launch.

Documents Required to be Attached

• Students will have to attach the documents mentioned below with the Mukhyamantri Digital Education Scheme Application Form at the time of application :-
  • Domicile Certificate or Any Residence Proof of Delhi.
  • Aadhaar Card of the Student.
  • Class 10^th Marksheet and Certificate.
  • Family Income Certificate.
  • Passport Size Photograph of the student.

How Beneficiaries Can Apply to Avail the Benefit of this Scheme

• Mukhyamantri Digital Education Scheme is the election promise of the Bharatiya Janta Party which was announced at the time of the assembly election.
• Cabinet of the Delhi Government has already given its approval to start the Mukhyamantri Digital Education Scheme on 22-07-2025.
• The concerned department will now draft the official guidelines of the scheme and release it in the public domain.
• Mukhyamantri Digital Education Scheme Application Process will be released with its guidelines.
• The department will decide the mode of accepting the application.
• The official portal of the Mukhyamantri Digital Education Scheme will be launched if the application mode is online.
• Whereas in the case of an offline mode of application, the offline application form will be made available in the concerned colleges or the education department district office.
• To get a free laptop under the Delhi Government’s Mukhyamantri Digital Education Scheme, beneficiary students will have to wait a little bit more till its launch.
