Introduction of Delhi Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Stipend Yojana: A Brief Insight

• The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) had promised to introduce Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Stipend Yojana for students belonging to the Scheduled Caste (SC) category in Delhi during the election campaign.
• The main objective of this scheme is to provide financial support to SC students who are pursuing technical education so that they can continue their studies without financial stress.
• The BJP has already won the elections in Delhi, but the government has not yet officially announced or launched the scheme.
• Once the scheme is implemented, eligible students studying in ITI or Polytechnic courses will receive a monthly stipend of Rs. 1,000 as financial assistance.

Benefits Provided to Eligible Beneficiaries

• Every eligible scheduled caste student who is studying in ITI or Skilled Polytechnic will get the following benefits under Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Stipend Yojana of the Government of Delhi :-
  • Monthly Financial Assistance as a stipend will be provided to Eligible Students.
  • Rs. 1,000/- per Month under this Scheme will be given to Students.

Eligibility Conditions Required to be Fulfilled

• Monthly Stipend of Rs. 1,000/- per month under Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Stipend Yojana will be provided by the Delhi Government to only those students who fulfil the below mentioned eligibility conditions of the scheme :-
  • Students belonging to the Scheduled Caste Category are Eligible to apply.
  • The beneficiary student should be a permanent resident of the NCT of Delhi.
  • The beneficiary student should be Currently Studying in an ITI or Skilled Polytechnic Course.
  • The remaining eligibility conditions will be released after its launch.

• Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Stipend Yojana is was the pre-poll promise of Bharatiya Janta Party for Schedule Caste Students of Delhi.
• A monthly stipend of Rs. 1,000/- per month will be provided to those scheduled caste students who are currently studying in ITI or Polytechnic Course.
• So right now the Application Process of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Stipend Yojana is not clear.
