Namo Lakshmi Scheme is the flagship scheme of the Gujarat Government, in which yearly scholarships will be provided annually to all eligible girl students who are studying from class 9th to class 12th. Introduction of Namo Lakshmi Scheme: A Brief Insight

• Gujarat Government presents its budget for the year 204-2025 on the  2^nd of February 2024.
• Finance Minister of Gujarat, Shri Kanubhai Desai, presents the budget in the assembly on behalf of the government of Gujarat.
• Shri. Kanubhai Desai, while presenting the budget, informs the assembly that from the year 2024-2025, the Gujarat Government will going to start a new scheme for the girl students.
• The name of the scheme will be “Namo Lakshmi Scheme”.
• The objective behind starting the Namo Lakshmi Scheme is to encourage girl students to enrol themselves in school and complete their education, and to decrease the school dropouts of girls.
• Gujarat Education Department is implementing this scheme.
• This scheme is also known by some other major names such as “Gujarat Namo Lakshmi Yojana” or “Gujarat Namo Laxmi Yojana” or “Gujarat Namo Laxmi Scheme” or “નમો લક્ષ્મી યોજના”.
• Government of Gujarat will provide a yearly scholarship as financial assistance to girls students under the Namo Lakshmi Scheme who are currently studying in Class 9^th to Class 12^th.
• A total of Rs. 50,000/- for a period of 4 years, that is from Class 9^th to Class 12^th will be provided to all eligible girl students.
• Rs. 10,000/- per year will be provided to those girl students who are currently studying in Class 9^th and Class 10^th.
• Whereas, Rs. 15,000/- per year will be provided to those girl students who are currently studying in Class 11^th and Class 12^th.
• Financial Assistance provided under this scheme will be disbursed on a monthly basis to girl students which are as follows :-
  • In Class 9th :- Rs. 500/- per Month for 10 Months. (Total :- Rs. 5,000/-)
  • In Class 10th :- Rs. 500/- per Month for 10 Months. (Total :- Rs. 5,000/-)
  • Remaining 10,000/- will be paid when the Girl Student successfully passes class 10th board exam.
  • Where in Class 11th :- Rs. 750/- per Month for 10 Months. (Total :- Rs. 7,500/-)
  • In Class 12th :- Rs. 750/- per Month for 10 Months. (Total :- Rs. 7,500/-)
  • The remaining Rs. 15,000/- will be paid when the girl student successfully passes class 12th board exam.
• This scholarship amount will help the girl students to manage the educational expenses incurred in their studies.
• 2024-2025 budget of the Namo Lakshmi Scheme is Rs. 1,250/- crore.
• More than 10 Lakh Girl Students is going to receive the scholarship amount under the Namo Lakshmi Scheme.
• Namo Lakshmi Scheme is officially launched by the Government of Gujarat.
• The other educational welfare scheme, which is started with this scheme, is “Namo Saraswati Vigyan Sadhana Yojana”.
• School Administration will fill out the Online Application Form of the Namo Lakshmi Scheme on behalf of Girl Students.

Benefits Provided to Eligible Beneficiaries

• Per Year Scholarships that are provided to Girl Students studying from Class 9th to Class 12th under Namo Lakshmi Scheme of the Government of Gujarat are as follows :-
  

  Rs. 50,000/- in 4 years (Class 9th to Class 12th) will be provided to Girl Students. Year-wise scholarship amount provided under Namo Lakshmi Scheme are :- Rs. 10,000/- in Class 9th. Rs. 10,000/- in Class 10th. Rs. 15,000/- in Class 11th. Rs. 15,000/- in Class 12th.

Eligibility Conditions Required to be Fulfilled

• Gujarat Government will provide a yearly scholarship under the Namo Lakshmi Scheme to only those girl students who fulfill the following eligibility criteria of scheme :-
  

  Girl Students should be a Permanent Resident of Gujarat. Annual Family Income of female students should be less than Rs. 6 Lakh per Year. Girl Students should be studying in any of the mentioned class :- 9th Class. 10th Class. 11th Class. 12th Class. Girl Student should be studying in any of the following schools :- Gujarat Government School. Gujarat Government Aided School. Private School.

Documents Required to be Attached

• The following documents is to be submitted at school by Students in order to avail the benefit of Gujarat Government’s Namo Lakshmi Scheme :-
  

  Girl Student Aadhar Card. Family Income Certificate. Girl Caste Certificate. (If Needed) Girl Student Bank Details with IFSC Code. Aadhar Card of Parents. Gir Student Identity Card.

How Beneficiaries Can Apply to Avail the Benefit of this Scheme

• Girl Students don’t have any need to apply for the Namo Lakshmi Scheme by themselves.
• School Administration in which the Girl Student is currently studying is responsible for filling out the Online Application Form of the Namo Lakshmi Scheme.
• Girl Students have to submit their Aadhar Card and Bank Account Details in the School.
• Nodal Officer of School Administration will then make a list of eligible girl students and enroll them in Namo Lakshmi Yojana by filling their details in the Government Portal.
• Submitted Online Application Form will then be verified by the Education Department.
• List of female students finally selected for financial assistance under the Namo Lakshmi Scheme will be forwarded to schools to paste it on the Notice Board.
• Girls selected under this Scheme will get monthly financial assistance directly in their given bank account.
• To check the Application Status of the Namo Lakshmi Scheme, the female student can contact the Nodal Officer of her school.

• Gujarat Government took a prominent step by starting the Namo Lakshmi type financial assistance scheme.
