Thayi Bhagya Plus Scheme is the extended version of Thayi Bhagya Scheme of Karnataka Government. Financial Assistance of Rs. 1,000/- will be given to women of state who deliver thier child in Non Empanaled Private Hospital instead of a Government or Empanaled Private Hospital. Introduction of Thayi Bhagya Plus Scheme: A Brief Insight

• Government of Karnataka started lots of welfare schemes in the state for the welfare of every section of society.
• Thayi Bhagya Plus Scheme is also one of the major welfare schemes of Government of Karnataka.
• It was launched by Karnataka Government in the year 2010.
• The main objective behind launching the Thayi Bhagya Scheme is to provide financial assistance to women of Karnataka State to cover the medical expenses incurred on childbirth.
• The women and Child Welfare Department of Karnataka is the responsible department of this scheme.
• Thayi Bhagya Plus has its own unique meaning in which “Thayi” means “Mother”, “Bhagya” means “Future” and “Plus” means “Extended Help”.
• So as the name depicts, Thayi Bhagya Plus Scheme is the scheme to provide an extra support hand in the shape of financial assistance to new mothers.
• Women Beneficiary will get the below-mentioned benefits under this Scheme if they deliver their child in an empaneled Private Hospital :-
  • Monetary Assistance of Rs. 1,000/-.
• This amount will cover the expenses incurred on delivery at a Private Hospital.
• Only Schedule Caste and Schedule Tribe Women belonging to Below Poverty Line are eligible to avail the benefit of financial assistance under Thayi Bhagya Plus Scheme.
• Right now there is no Online Application Form of Thayi Bhagya Plus Scheme is available.
• Beneficiary Women can also avail the benefits of “Madilu Kit Scheme”.
• Women beneficiaries can avail of the benefit of this Scheme by filling the Offline Application Form which are available at Anganwadi Centers.

Eligibility Conditions Required to be Fulfilled

• The following eligibility conditions is required to be fulfilled in order to avail the benefit of Thayi Bhagya Plus Scheme :-
  

  Women Beneficiary should be a Permanent Resident of Karnataka. Child of a Women Beneficiary should be born in an empaneled Private Hospital. Women Beneficiary should belong to BPL Category. Women Beneficiary should belong to any of the following caste :- Schedule Caste. Schedule Tribe.

• The below-mentioned documents is required to avail of the benefit of Karnataka Government’s Thayi Bhagya Plus Scheme :-
  

  Domicile of Karnataka or Any Residence Proof. Any of the following mentioned card :- BPL Card. Ration Card. Schedule Caste/ Schedule Tribe Certificate. Pregnant Women Aadhar Card. ANC Number. Mobile Number. Details of Bank Account.

How Beneficiaries Can Apply to Avail the Benefit of this Scheme

• Eligible Women Beneficiaries can apply for Thayi Bhagya Plus Scheme by filling the Offline Application Form after delivering her child in an empaneled Private Hospital.
• Offline Application Form of Thayi Bhagya Plus Scheme is available at any Anganwadi Centre or at the Community Health Centre.
• ASHA Worker or Junior Health Officer present at Anganwadi Centre will help the women beneficiary to fill the Application Form of Thayi Bhagya Scheme.
• Then Application will be forwarded to the Department of Women and Child Welfare of Karnataka Government for approval.
• After Verification, the financial assistance of Rs. 1,000/- will be transferred in the given bank account of women beneficiary.
