Rajasthan Mukhyamantri Ayushman Durghatna Bima Yojana

The Mukhyamantri Ayushman Durghatna Bima Yojana is an accidental insurance scheme of the Rajasthan Government, providing financial assistance of up to Rs. 1.5 lakh to Rs. 10 lakh in case of death or disability caused to an insured person due to an accident.

Introduction of Rajasthan Mukhyamantri Ayushman Durghatna Bima Yojana: A Brief Insight

• The Rajasthan Government launched the Mukhyamantri Ayushman Durghatna Bima Yojana on March 7, 2024.
• It is a revamped version of “Mukhyamantri Chiranjeevi Durghanta Bima Yojana” which was launched by the then Congress Government on 01-05-2022.
• Mukhyamantri Ayushman Nishulk Durghatna Bima Yojana is an accidental insurance scheme for the people of Rajasthan which was launched with the objective to provide social security cover to all eligible families.
• Rajasthan Government’s State Insurance and Provident Fund Department is the implementing department of this scheme.
• Financial Assistance will be provided to aggrieved families under Ayushman Durghatna Bima Yojana in case of death or disability of any family member due to an accident.
• The amount of assistance varies according to the type of loss faced by the family in an accident.
• In case of death of more than 1 family member, the amount of assistance under this scheme is Rs. 10,00,000/-.
• Whereas the amount of assistance is Rs. 5,00,000/- in case of the death of a single family member.
• Disabled beneficiary will receive from Rs. 1,50,000/- to Rs. 3,00,000/- depending on the nature of the disability.
• All families registered under the Rajasthan Government’s Mukhyamantri Ayusman Arogya Yojana and State Health Insurance Scheme are eligible for accidental insurance cover under this Ayushman Durghatana Bima Yojana.
• Employees of Five Electricity Company/ Corporation who are not covered under any of the following schemes are also included in this scheme.
• Claim process of the accidental insurance scheme of Rajasthan is very simple and can be filed through different modes, which are through the SSO Portal or by visiting the nearest E Mitra/ CSC Centre or through its Official Website.
• Call 181in case any assistance or help is required regarding the Government of Rajasthan’s Mukhyamantri Ayushman Durghatna Beema Yojana.
• Beneficiary families can also enroll themselves under the Central Government’s social security scheme PM Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojana and PM Suraksha Bima Yojana, by paying a nominal premium amount of Rs. 436/- and Rs. 20/- respectively.
• The beneficiary can also claim financial assistance under the “Compensation to Victims of Hit and Run Motor Accident Scheme” in case of a road accident in which the vehicle is untraceable who hit the beneficiary.
• It is mandatory to file a claim under the Chief Minister Ayushman Accidental Insurance Scheme of the Rajasthan Government within 60 days from the date of the accident or death of an insured person.
• In some special cases with valid reason, the beneficiary applicant can also file a claim within 90 days.
• Claims under this scheme will be settled within 30 days of receipt.
• If the claim of Mukhyamantri Durghatna Bima Yojana is rejected, then the applicant can also file a first appeal and thereafter a second appeal.

Benefits Provided to Eligible Beneficiaries

• Rajasthan Government will provide the following financial assistance under its Mukhyamantri Ayushman Durghatna Bima Yojana in case of death or disability of an insured person due to accident :-

  Partial or Permanent Disability in Case of Loss of :- One Hand/ One Leg/ One Eye	Rs. 1.5 Lakh

Eligibility Conditions Required to be Fulfilled

• Financial Assistance in case of death or disability of an insured person will be provided to only those beneficiaries who fulfill the below-mentioned eligibility criteria of Mukhyamantri Ayushman Durghatna Bima Yojana :-
  • Permanent Residents of Rajasthan are Eligible.
  • The family should be registered in Mukhyamantri Ayushman Arogya Yojana.
  • Families registered under the State Health Insurance Scheme are also Eligible.
  • Employees of all 5 Electricity/ Power Companies who are not covered under the above-mentioned scheme are also eligible for a claim.
  • No Natural Death is Eligible for Insurance Claim.
  • Death or Disability should be caused by an Accident.
  • Mandatory to file a claim within 60 days.

Causes of Accident Eligible for Claim

• Claim under Mukhyamantri Ayushman Nishulk Durghatna Yojana will only be provided if an insured person’s death or disability is caused due to any of the below-mentioned types of accidents :-
  

  Road/ Vehicle Accidents Rail Accidents Air Accidents Collapsing of the House Drowning in a River, Lake, Pond, Well etc. Chemical Substance Explosion Electrocution/ Electric Shock Burning/ Burns Hit by a Falling Object from Height Fallen from Height While Operating or Working on Machines like Thresher, Cutting Machine, Power Machine, Plow etc.

Causes of Accidents That Are Not Eligible for Claim

• The below-mentioned types of accidents, or if a death or disability of an insured person is caused due to any of the following causes then they are not eligible to file a claim under the Rajasthan Government’s Mukhyamantri Ayushman Durghatna Bima Yojana :-
  

  Natural Death Due to Cancer, TB, Heart Attack or Mental Illness Suicide Attempt Suicide Murder Injuries Self-Inflicted Injuries Consumption of Alcohol, Drugs, Injection etc. Medical or Surgical Procedure Atomic Radiation or Radioactive Substances War or Foreign Invasion Civil War or Rebellion Involved in Anti-National Activities Pregnancy or Childbirth Involved in Illegal or Criminal Activity Aviation activities like Ballooning, Gliding Animal Attack Bite of Creature

• Beneficiary Applicant will have to upload the following documents at the time of claiming the insurance amount under the Rajasthan Government’s Mukhyamantri Ayushman Durghatna Bima Yojana :-

  • First Information Report. (FIR)
  • Panchnama.
  • Death Summary.
  • Aadhaar Card.
  • Family Jan Aadhaar Card.

How Beneficiaries Can Apply to Avail the Benefit of this Scheme

• Eligible families of Rajasthan can enroll themselves under India’s largest health care scheme named Mukhyamantri Ayushman Durghatna Bima Yojana through the below-mentioned ways :-
  • Through the Official Portal.
  • Through the Rajasthan Single Sign On Portal.
  • Through the E Mitra Centre.

Through the Official Portal

• The easiest way to claim the insurance amount in case of death or disability of an insured person under the Government of Rajasthan’s Mukhyamantri Ayushman Durghatna Bima Yojana is through its Official Website.
• Open the Mukhyamantri Ayushman Durghatna Scheme Official Website and Click on Citizen Login.
  
• Enter your family’s Jan Aadhaar Card Number to Log In.
  
• The portal will verify the Jan Aadhaar Card through OTP authentication.
• A list of family members will appear on the screen after successful authentication.
• Click on “Apply for Ayushman Durghatna Yojana” and choose the name of a family member.
• Fill all the details about the accident in the Chief Minister Ayushman Durghatna Bima Yojana Claim Form.
• Upload all the scanned documents on the portal.
• Preview the application form before submitting and check all the filled details.
• If all is correct, click on submit button and submit it.
• Mukhyamantri Ayushman Nishulk Durghatna Bima Yojana Claim Form will be scrutinized by department officials and further forwarded to the insurance company for disbursal of the insurance amount.
• Financial Assistance as per the category of the applicant will be transferred in the bank account of the applicant.
• Beneficiary Applicant can call 181 in case of any help or assistance required regarding the Government of Rajasthan’s Mukhyamantri Ayushman Durghatna Bima Yojana.

Online Application Process through SSO Portal

• Mukhyamantri Ayushman Durghatna Bima Yojana Claim can be filed through the Single Sign On (SSO) Portal of the Rajasthan Government.
• Visit the SSO Portal and Click on Registration.
• Registration on the SSO Portal will be done through the Jan Aadhaar Card Number or the Email ID.
  
• The portal will send the User Name and Password on the Applicant’s registered Email ID after successful registration.
• Login with the received User Name or Password.
  
• The applicant will have to search for Mukhyamantri Ayushman Durghatna Bima Yojana and select it.
  
• Enter your Jan Aadhaar Card Number and verify it through OTP authentication.
• A list of Family Members will appear from which the applicant will have to choose the name of the victim.
• Fill the Claim Form of Mukhyamantri Ayushman Nishulk Durghatna Bima Yojana and upload all the required documents.
• Check the filled details once and click on the submit button to submit it.
• Mukhyamantri Ayushman Durghatna Bima Yojana Claim Form and all the documents will be verified by the concerned officials of the department.
• A list of Eligible claimants will be made and further forwarded to the respective insurance company for approval and disbursement of the insurance amount.
• The claimant will receive the insurance amount directly in their Aadhaar-linked bank account.
• It is mandatory to file a claim under the Rajasthan Government’s Chief Minister Ayushman Durghatna Bima Yojana within 60 days of the day of the accident or the date of death.

Online Application Process through E Mitra Centre

• Nominee or Legal Heir or Disabled Victims can also file a claim under Mukhyamantri Ayushman Durghatna Bima Yojana by visiting the nearest E Mitra Centre/ CSC Centre.
• E Mitra Centre/ CSC Centre Operator will fill the Online Claim Application Form of the Applicant of Ayushman Durghatna Bima Yojana.
• Applicant will have to provide the required document, which will be scanned by the operator and uploaded it on the portal.
• Acknowledgment Receipt will be provided by the E Mitra/ CSC Operator to the applicant.
• Submitted Application Form and Documents will be initially verified by the respective department.
• A list of eligible claims will then be forwarded to the insurance company for the disbursement of the claim amount.
• Claim Amount under the Mukhyamantri Ayushman Durghatna Bima Yojana of the Rajasthan Government will be directly transferred in the bank account of the applicant.
• Application Status of Mukhyamantri Ayushman Durghatna Bima Yojana submitted through E Mitra Centre can be seen with the help of Transaction ID or Receipt Number or Jan Aadhaar Number.
