Introduction of Scheme
- Mode of transportation in rural areas as well as in the urban areas is always been the problem for students studying in schools.
- And if the student is a Girl, then in most of the cases they leave the school instead of going so far for study.
- To solve the problem of students, Government of Punjab started major welfare scheme in the State.
- Punjab Mai Bhago Vidya Scheme is the boon for the welfare of Girl Students in the Punjab.
- It was started in the year 2011.
- The main objective behind launching Punjab Mai Bhago Vidya Scheme is to encourage girl students of Punjab to continue and complete their basic education.
- This scheme will also help the Government of Punjab to reduce the school dropouts of Girl Students.
- This scheme is also known as “ਪੰਜਾਬ ਮਾਈ ਭਾਗੋ ਵਿਦਿਆ ਸਕੀਮ”.
- Punjab Government’s Department of Social Security and Women & Child Development is the responsible department for the implementation of this scheme.
- Under Punjab Mai Bhago Vidya Scheme, Government of Punjab will provide Free of Cost Bicycle to Girl Students of Punjab.
- Girl Students studying in any of the below mentioned class are eligible to get free of cost bicycle :-
- Class 9th.
- Class 10th.
- Class 11th.
- Class 12th.
- Girl Students of Punjab Government Schools will be covered for free of cost bicycle under Punjab Mai Bhago Vidya Scheme.
- For further clarification on Mai Bhago Vidya Scheme, applicant can visit and talk to the District Program Officer or Principal of Girl Student School.
- Eligible Applicant can apply for Free of Cost Bicycles by filling the Application Form of Punjab Mai Bhago Vidya Scheme.
- Application Form of Punjab Mai Bhago Vidya Scheme will be available free of cost in the offices of District Program Officer or Principal of School.

Eligibility Conditions of Mai Bhago Vidya Scheme
- The below mentioned eligibility conditions is set by Government of Punjab to avail the benefit of Free of Cost Bicycles under Punjab Mai Bhago Vidya Scheme :-
- Girls Student should be a Permanent Resident of Punjab.
- Girl Should be a Student of any of the following Class :-
- Class 9th.
- Class 10th.
- Class 11th.
- Class 12th.
- Girl Student Should be Studying in any Punjab Government School.

How Students Can Apply for Scheme
- Eligible Girl Students can avail the benefit of Free of Bicycles by applying through Punjab Mai Bhago Vidya Scheme Application Form.
- The Application Form of Punjab Mai Bhago Vidya Scheme is available free of cost in the office of the following :-
- School Principal Office.
- District Program Officer Office.
- Fill the Application Form of Punjab Mai Bhago Vidya Scheme Correctly and attach the following documents with it :-
- Domicile/ Residence Proof of Punjab.
- Recommendation Letter of School Principal.
- Bank Account Details.
- Aadhar Card of Girl Student.
- Education Related Documents.
- Aadhar Card of Parents of Girl Student.
- Submit the Application Form along with all the documents in the office of School Principal or in the office of District Program Officer.

- After verification the list of girls students eligible for free of bicycles will make available at the notice board of the school.
- Free of Cost Bicycles will be distributed among the Girl Students in a function organized by Department of Social Security and Women & Child Development.
