Telangana Government under its Own Your Auto Scheme will provide 50% subsidy on the purchase of a 3-wheeler autorickshaw for self-employment purposes. The remaining 50% cost of the 3-wheeler autorickshaw can also be covered with a bank loan.

Introduction of Telangana Own Your Auto Scheme: A Brief Insight

• Telangana Government launched the Own Your Auto Scheme in the year 2015.
• The main aim of the government behind starting this scheme is to financially support poor and eligible people from the minority community of Telangana to start their self-employment activity.
• The government had observed that many youths belonging to the minority community engaged in operating 3-wheeler autorickshaws but they didn’t own them, which made it difficult for them to save money.
• So, to support youths to own their own 3-wheeler autorickshaw, the Telangana Government started the Own Your Auto Scheme.
• This scheme will be implemented by the Minorities Finance Corporation of the Telangana Government.
• The government will now provide a subsidy and bank loan facility on the purchase of a 3 Wheeler Autorickshaw with 3 people seating capacity under the Own Your Auto Scheme.
• 50% Subsidy on the cost of CNG or LPG 3-wheeler autorickshaw will be provided to applicants under the Telangana Government’s Own Your Subsidy Scheme.
• Subsidy under this scheme will be applicable on Bajaj, TVS and Piaggio auto company three-wheelers.
• The government also provides the facility to take a bank loan for the remaining 50% cost of the vehicle.
• The benefit of the subsidy under this scheme is not available for all.
• Applicants in the age group of 21 to 55 years, having a valid 3-wheeler autorickshaw license and belonging to the minority community i.e. Muslim, Buddhist, Jain, Parsi, Sikh or Christian, are only eligible to purchase the 3-wheeler and avail the benefit of 50% subsidy under Own Your Auto Scheme.
• If the annual family income of any applicant is more than Rs. 2 lakh per year then they are not eligible to apply for this scheme.
• Telangana Own Your Auto Scheme Online Application Form will be available from time to time on the Online Beneficiary Management and Monitoring System Portal.
• Contact the District Minorities Welfare Officer (DMWO) in case any help or assistance is required regarding the Own Your Auto Scheme of the Telangana Government.
• Beneficiary Applicant can also apply for the Rajiv Yuva Vikasam Scheme if eligible.

Benefits Provided to Eligible Beneficiaries

• Telangana Government under Own Your Auto Scheme will provide the below-mentioned benefits to all eligible Applicants :-
  • The government will provide financial assistance as a subsidy on Three Wheeler Autorickshaw purchase.
  • The applicable subsidy is 50% cost of a Three Wheeler.
  • The other 50% will be borne by the Applicant.
  • Bank Loan Facility is also available for the other 50% cost of a Three Wheeler Autorickshaw.

Eligibility Conditions Required to be Fulfilled

• 50% subsidy on Three Wheeler Autorickshaw purchase under Telangana Government’s Own Your Auto Scheme will be provided to only those applicants who fulfill the following eligibility criteria of scheme :-
  

  Permanent Residents Applicants from the Minority Community of Telangana are Eligible to Apply. The Resident of Applicant should be in any one place :- Rangareddy District GHMC (Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation) Applicant’s Family Annual Income should be less than Rs. 2 lakh per annum. Applicant’s Age should be 21 to 55 years. Having a Driving License of a Three Wheeler is Mandatory.

Documents Required to be Attached

• Applicant will have to submit the below-mentioned documents at the time of applying for subsidy on the purchase of a Three Wheeler Autorickshaw under the Own Your Auto Scheme of the Telangana Government :-
  

  Telangana Residence Proof :- Family Ration Card. Voter ID. Applicant Aadhaar Card. Bank Account Passbook. DL. Aadhaar Card of Applicant. Family Certificate of Income. Minority Certificate. (If Available) Driving License of a Three Wheeler. Recent Color Photograph. Quotation of the Vehicle. Mobile Number and Email.

How Beneficiaries Can Apply to Avail the Benefit of this Scheme

• Interested applicants who want self-employment can purchase a Three Wheeler Autorickshaw and avail the benefit of 50% subsidy under the Own Your Auto Scheme of the Telangana Government by applying Online.
• The online application form of the Own Your Auto Scheme is not available all the time on the portal.
• Telangana Government will open the portal for online application from time to time in every financial year.
• Applicants can find the Own Your Auto Online Application Form at the Online Beneficiary Management and Monitoring System Portal of the Government of Telangana.
• Visit the Portal and choose Telangana Own Your Auto Scheme to fill out the online application form.
• Online Application of Own Your Auto Scheme will appear, in which the applicant will have to fill basic personal details, contact details, and details of the autorickshaw which is going to be purchased.
• Now, upload all the required documents on the portal.
• Preview all the filled details, submit the application and take a printout of it.
• Visit the Minorities Finance Corporation Branch Office and submit the printout of the Own Your Auto Scheme along with all the documents to the District Minorities Welfare Officers.
• DMWO will verify the application and documents and make a list of eligible applicants and forward it to the Head Office of Minorities Finance Corporation for further approval.
• The list of selected applicants for the grant of subsidy under the Telangana Government’s Own Your Auto Scheme will then be forwarded to the Vehicle Dealer, Transport Department and to the Bank for further processing.
• Vehicle Dealer will deliver the vehicle to the applicant after receiving the subsidy amount and the bank loan amount.
• Transport Department will issue a permit in favour of the purchased vehicle after the applicant submits the vehicle documents.
