Introduction of Vivekananda Overseas Education Scheme: A Brief Insight

Every students has a dream to study in foreign universities so that thier future will be bright.
But due to financial problems some of them doesn’t have a capability to fulfill their dreams.
Now, Telangana Government took an initiative and started new scheme to support students financially.
The name of scheme is “Vivekananda Overseas Education Scheme”.
This scheme was launched by government in the year 2018.
The main aim of scheme is to support students from brahmin community financially to complete their higher education from foreign university.
Telangana Government’s Brahmin Samkshema Parishad is the implementing agency of this scheme.
Government will provide scholarship to eligible students who secured their admission in any foreign university.
A maximum financial assistance of Rs. 20,00,000/- will be provided to selected students under Vivekananda Overseas Education Scheme to pay their tuition fees.
Maximum Assistance of Rs. 50,000/- will also provided to students for air ticket of economy class.
But this scheme is not for all students, scholarship of Rs. 20 Lakh for tuition fees will only provide to those students who belongs to the Brahmin Community.
It is mandatory to secure admission in any Post Graduate or Doctoral Course in a foreign university in order to avail the benefit of scholarship under this scheme.
Diploma, Post Diploma, Advance Diploma, Certificate Vocational Courses, Post Secondary Education Courses are not eligible for scholarship under Vivekananda Overseas Education Scheme.
Qualifying in foreign entrance examinations like PTE/ GMAT/ TOEFL/ IELTS/ GRE is mandatory.
Telangana Government select students for this scholarship through a weightage system in which merit will be made by considering 60% marks of Degree Course, 20% marks of GRE/ GMAT and 20% marks of TOEFL/IELTS.
University of 10 Foreign Countries are considered by Telangana Government to provide scholarship under Vivekananda Overseas Education Scheme.
The list of 10 foreign countries which are considered by Government of Telangana are :-
- United States of America. (USA)
- South Korea.
- Japan.
- France.
- Germany.
- New Zealand.
- Canada.
- Singapore.
- Australia.
- United Kingdom. (UK)
Online Application Form of Vivekananda Overseas Education Scheme is available on Brahmin Samkshema Parishad Website, Students can visit and apply for scholarship.
This scheme has some other names also which are “Vivekananda Overseas Education Scholarship Scheme” or “Vivekananda Overseas Education Scheme for Brahmin Students” or “Vivekananda Overseas Education Pathakam”.

Benefits Provided to Eligible Beneficiaries

Those Students who secured admission in foreign universities for higher education will get the below-mentioned financial assistance from Telangana Government under Vivekananda Overseas Education Scheme :-
- Financial Assistance will be Provided to Students for their Tuition Fees.
- Rs. 20,00,000/- Assistane as Scholarship will get by Students to pay their Tuition Fees.
- Apart from that Rs. 50,000/- will also provided to Students for Air Ticket of Economy Class.

Eligibility Conditions Required to be Fulfilled

Government of Telangana under Vivekananda Overseas Education Scheme will only provide scholarship to those students who met the eligibility criteria set for this scheme :-

Only Brahmin Students are Eligible to Apply for this Scholarship Scheme.
Both the Parents of Students should also from Brahmin Community.
Beneficiary Student should be a Permanent Resident of Telangana.
The Family Annual Income should be less than Rs. 5 Lakh per year.
The Score of Students in below mentioned Qualifying Exams should be :-
- PTE – 50.
- GRE – 260.
- GMAT – 500.
- IELTS – 6.0
- TOEFL – 60.
Students should have secured Admission in Post Graduation or Doctoral Course in Foreign University.
The Duration of Course should be 18 Months to 24 Months.
Diploma and Certificate Courses are Not Eligible for Scholarship.

Beneficiary Students will have to upload the below mentioned documents at the time of applying for scholarship under Telangana Government’s Vivekananda Overseas Education Scheme :-
- Student Passport Size Photograph.
- Aadhar Card of Beneficiary Student.
- Certificate of Residence of Telangana.
- Educational Documents from Class 12th to so on.
- Certificate of Caste from Mee Seva.
- Certificate of Income from Mee Seva.
- Latest Income Tax Assessment of Parents or Student.
- Scorecard of TOEFL/ PTE/ IELTS/ GMAT/ PTE/ GRE.
- Bank Account Number and IFSC Code.
- Foreign University Admission Letter.
- Login Credentials of GRE/ GMAT/ IELTS/ TOEFL/ PTE.
- Copy of Passport and VISA.

How Beneficiaries Students Can Apply to Avail the Benefit of this Scheme

Brahmin Students who secured admission in any post graduate or doctoral course can apply to get scholarship under Vivekananda Overseas Education Scheme.
Online Application Form of Vivekananda Overseas Education Scheme is available on Brahmin Samkshema Parishad Website.
Beneficiary Student will have to visit the Website, Click on Schemes and Select Vivekananda Overseas Education Scheme.
After that Click on Registration.
Registration Form of Vivekananda Overseas Education Scheme will appear in which beneficiary students will have to enter the following details :-
- Personal Details.
- Contact Details.
- Educational Details.
- Bank Account Details.
- Admission Related Details.
- Passport and VISA Related Details.
Now, upload all the supporting documents on the portal.
Preview the filled information thoroughly and Click on Submit Button to Submit it.
Submitted Vivekananda Overseas Education Scheme Application Forms and Documents will be verified by the concerned committee members of Brahmin Samkshema Parishad.
List of Eligible Students will be made then and notify them through SMS on their mobile number abour their selection.
Scholarship Amount of Rs. 20,00,000/- as promised under Vivekananda Overseas Education Scheme of Government of Telangana will then released in favour of students in a phased manner.
Vivekananda Overseas Education Scheme Application Status of this scheme can be checked with the help of Application Number on the website.
Students can also register their Grievance through their Aadhaar Number regarding Vivekananda Overseas Education Scheme in case of any help needed.
