Introduction of Goa Mahila Digital Sashaktikaran Yojana: A Brief Insight

• The Goa Government launched the Mahila Digital Sashaktikaran Yojana on August 7, 2025.
• The government’s main objective behind launching this scheme is to enhance the digital skills in women, especially from rural areas, by providing them with training about Digital Literacy so that they can actively participate in the digital economy.
• Mahila Digital Sashaktikaran Yojana’s nodal department is the Department of Information Technology, Electronics and Communication Goa and it is going to be implemented in the state by Info Tech Corporation of Goa Limited.
• Goa Government under its Mahila Digital Sashaktikaran Yojana will provide free of cost digital literacy training to women, especially from rural areas.
• In digital literacy training, the government will provide training about the use of Government Online Service Platforms, how to use a Smartphone and the use of many other government digital services to the enrolled women with the help of IT Knowledge Centre or Citizen Service Centre or the Village Level Entrepreneurs.
• This initiative will encourage the women beneficiaries to enhance their digital skills and they can easily navigate the online platforms of the government by using digital devices without the need of anyone.
• Women Beneficiaries who are currently residing in Goa for at least 15 years and are 18 years or above are eligible to take part in Goa Government’s Mahila Digital Sashaktikaran Yojana.
• Application under Mahila Digital Sashaktikaran Yojana can be submitted through Village Level Entrepreneurs, Citizen Service Centres or IT Knowledge Centres.
• Women Beneficiaries can also explore the other welfare schemes of the Goa Government, which are mentioned below, apply for them also as per the eligibility conditions and avail the benefits :-
  • Griha Aadhaar Scheme.
  • Mamta Scheme.
  • Laadli Laxmi Scheme.

Benefits Provided to Eligible Beneficiaries

• Goa Government under its Mahila Digital Sashaktikaran Yojana will provide the following benefits to all eligible women beneficiaries :-
  

  Digital Literacy Knowledge Training will be provided to the Selected Women Beneficiary. Digital Literacy Knowledge Training includes :- How to Use a Mobile Phone/ Smartphone. How to Use Online Government Platforms. Any other Government Digital Services Use.

Eligibility Conditions Required to be Fulfilled

• Free of Cost Digital Literary Training will be provided to only those beneficiaries who fulfill the below-mentioned eligibility criteria of Mahila Digital Sashaktikaran Yojana of the Goa Government :-
  • The Age of women applicant should be 18 years or older.
  • Women applicants should be residing in Goa for at least 15 years.

Documents Required to be Attached

• The following documents will have to be submitted at the time of enrolling under the Goa Government’s Mahila Digital Sashaktikaran Yojana :-
  • Copy of Application Form.
  • Passport Size Photo with Signature on it.
  • Certificate of Highest Qualification.
  • Residence Certificate of 15 years.
  • Aadhaar Card.
  • Mobile Number and Email.

How Beneficiaries Can Apply to Avail the Benefit of this Scheme

• Eligible Beneficiary women who are interested in taking part in the digital literacy initiative of the Goa Government under Mahila Digital Sashaktikaran Yojana can apply online.
• To apply online for Mahila Digital Sashaktikaran Yojana, beneficiary women will have to visit any empanelled centre mentioned below :-
  • IT Knowledge Centres. (ITKCs)
  • Citizen Service Centres. (CSCs)
  • Village Level Entrepreneurs. (VLEs)
• Visit any of the above-mentioned centres and enroll yourself under the Government of Goa’s Mahila Digital Sashaktikaran Yojana.
• Take the Application Form of Mahila Digital Sashaktikaran Yojana from the centres, fill it and attach all the required documents with the application form.
• ITKCs, CSCs, VLEs will upload the filled application form of the women beneficiary along with all the scanned copies of documents online.
• Submitted Application Form of Mahila Digital Sashaktikaran Scheme (Women Empowerment Scheme of Goa) will be verified by the Officials of the Info Tech Corporation of Goa Limited.
• Selected Women will receive the digital literacy knowledge regarding the use of smartphones, government online portals and government services free of cost.
• Training and Awareness Programs will be conducted in Panchayat Halls, School Halls or any Religious Buildings under the Mahila Digital Sashaktikaran Yojana of the Goa Government.
• Women Beneficiary can contact their nearest IT Knowledge Centre or Citizen Service Centre or Village Level Entrepreneur for more information or any help or assistance required regarding Mahila Digital Sashaktikaran Yojana.
