Introduction of Madhya Pradesh Pratibha Kiran Yojana: A Brief Insight

• Madhya Pradesh Government launched Pratibha Kiran Yojana (मध्य प्रदेश प्रतिभा किरण योजना) on 01-07-2005.
• The main objective behind launching this educational welfare scheme is to encourage the girl students of urban areas of to pursue and complete their higher education.
• Through this initiative, the Madhya Pradesh Government will support the girl students by providing financial assistance directly in their bank account in the form of a scholarship.
• Madhya Pradesh Government’s Higher Education Department implementing this scheme in the State.
• Pratibha Kiran Yojana was specifically started by MP Government for those girls who are living and completed their class 12th with 60% or more marks from schools situated in Urban areas of the State.
• Girl students who have completed their Class 12th and taken admission in a graduation course will receive yearly scholarship of Rs. 5,000/- per year distributed among them as Rs. 500/- per month for 10 months.
• Whereas, if any girl student has taken admission in an Engineering or Medical Course after completing class 12th, then the amount of assistance under Pratibha Kiran Yojana is Rs. 7,500/- per year disbursed among them as Rs. 750/- per month for 10 months.
• Pratibha Kiran Scheme of the Madhya Pradesh Government is a DBT Scheme in which the amount of financial assistance will be transferred directly into the bank account of a girl beneficiary.
• Girl Students belonging to the General, SC, ST and OBC categories are eligible to apply for a monthly scholarship under Pratibha Kiran Scholarship Scheme.
• The amount of scholarship under this scheme is only for girl students from BPL Families residing in urban area.
• Rural Area resident girls can apply for similar scholarship under the Gaon Ki Beti Yojana of the Madhya Pradesh Government.
• Applicant Girl Student can apply online for Pratibha Kiran Yojana and the online application form of the scheme is available on the State Scholarship Portal 2.0.
• Beneficiary Girl can contact the Nodal Officer of the College in case any help is needed for Pratibha Kiran Scholarship Scheme.
• Madhya Pradesh Government is also providing financial assistance of Rs. 25,000/- to purchase laptops under “Pratibhashali Vidyarthi Protsahan Yojana” to meritorious students who have passed their class 12th with 75% or more marks.

Benefits Provided to Eligible Beneficiaries

• Urban Area Girl Students who have passed their class 12th with 60% or more marks will receive the following benefits under the Pratibha Kiran Yojana of the Madhya Pradesh Government :-
  • Eligible Girl Students will receive Monthly Scholarship.
  • Rs. 5,000/- per year will be provided as Rs. 500/- per month for 10 months to those girl students who have taken admission in the Normal Graduation Course.
  • Rs. 7,500/- per year will be provided as Rs. 750/- per month for 10 months to those girl students who have taken admission in the Engineering or Medical Course.

Eligibility Conditions Required to be Fulfilled

• Madhya Pradesh Government through the Pratibha Kiran Yojana will provide Per Month Scholarship of Rs. 500/- per month and Rs. 750/- per month to only those students who fulfil the following eligibility criteria of the scheme :-
  • Beneficiary Girl Student should be a Permanent Resident of Madhya Pradesh.
  • The Beneficiary Girl Student should currently be residing in a Urban Area.
  • Applicant Girl student should have completed her Class 12th with 60% or more marks from a school situated in a Urban Area.
  • Applicant Girl Student should have taken admission in any Graduation Course from any Higher Educational Institute.
  • Family of a Girl Student should belong to the BPL Category.
  • Applicant Girl belongs to General, Scheduled Caste, Scheduled Tribe, and Other Backwards Classeses category are Eligible.

Documents Required to be Attached

• The beneficiary girl students will need the following documents at the time of applying for scholarship under Pratibha Kiran Yojana of Government of Madhya Pradesh :-
  • Passport Size Photo.
  • College Code and Branch Code.
  • Marksheet of Class.
  • Certificate of Class 12th.
  • Email ID and Mobile Number.
  • BPL Certificate or Ration Card.
  • Aadhaar Card of a Girl Student.
  • SAMAGRA ID.
  • Bank Account Details.
  • Caste Certificate.
  • Madhya Pradesh Residence Proof.

How Beneficiaries Can Apply to Avail the Benefit of this Scheme

• Girl Students can apply online to receive monthly scholarship from Madhya Pradesh Government under Pratibha Kiran Yojana.
• Online Application Form of Pratibha Kiran Yojana is available on the State Scholarship Portal 2.0 of the Madhya Pradesh Government.
• Applicant Girl Student will have to open the portal, scroll down to “Online Schemes on the Portal” section and click on Pratibha Kiran Yojana Registration.
• Enter the SAMAGRA ID after clicking on New Application.
• Scholarship Portal will verify the SAMAGRA ID through Mobile OTP.
• The State Scholarship Portal will generate the Applicant ID after successful registration.
• Login on the portal with the Applicant ID and your Date of Birth or chosen password.
• Pratibha Kiran Yojana is available on your screen, click on Apply Online button.
• Fill all the asked information in Pratibha Kiran Scheme Online Application Form.
• Upload all the documents on the portal in a PDF form.
• Check all the filled information and click on “Lock the Details”.
• Submit the Pratibha Kiran Yojna Application Form after verifying all the information.
• Take a printout of the submitted application form, attach the documents with it and submit it in your university or college.
• The Nodal Officer of the Scheme appointed by the Educational Institute will collect the application form and documents from girl students and verify it with the online submitted details.
• The verified list of girl students will then be forwarded to the Higher Education Department for further verification and approval of the scholarship amount.
• Monthly Scholarship of Rs. 500/- per month and Rs. 750/- per month as per the educational course will be transferred in the bank account of beneficiary as promised by the MP Government under the Pratibha Kiran Scholarship Scheme.
• Pratibha Kiran Yojana Application Status can be seen on the State Scholarship Portal 2.0.
