Introduction of Lakshmir Bhandar Scheme: A Brief Insight
- There is a reason why every married woman is called a housemaker.
- Because they can maintain and run the house financially and emotionally.
- Irrespective of the amount they get to manage the household finances, there is always a need of more.
- So the Government of West Bengal started the Laxmir Bhandar Scheme to help the women financially.
- Lakshmir Bhandar was started by the Government of West Bengal in the year 2021.
- The main objective behind launching this Scheme is to provide financial assistance to women of West Bengal for their basic daily expenses.
- This money can be used by beneficiaries to purchase the daily household need items.
- This Scheme is also called “Laxmir Bhandar Scheme” or “Lakshmir Bhandar Prakalpa” or “Lakshmir Bhandar Yojana” or “Lakhir Bhandar Scheme”
- West Bengal Government’s Department of Women & Child and Social Welfare is the implementing department of this scheme.
- Monthly Financial Assistance from Rs. 500/- to Rs. 1,000/- per month will be provided by the Government of West Bengal under this scheme.
- The following financial assistance will be given to the eligible women beneficiaries under the Lakshmir Bhandar Scheme :-
- Rs. 1,000/- (One Thousand Rupees Only) to Scheduled Caste Women.
- Rs. 1,000/- (One Thousand Rupees Only) to Scheduled Tribe Women.
- Rs. 500/- (Five Hundred Rupees Only) to Other Category Women.
- Only the Women aged between 25 Years to 60 Years are eligible to apply for financial assistance under Lakshmir Bhandar Scheme.
- Serving or Retired employees of any State or Central Government are not eligible to apply.
- Eligible Women Beneficiaries can apply for the West Bengal Lakshmir Bhandar Scheme Financial Assistance through Application Form of Lakhsmir Bhandar Scheme.
- In case of any help of assistance is required for the Lakshmir Bhandar Scheme, Beneficiary Women can contact their nearest District Office of Women and Child Development Department.

- The following financial assistance under the Lakshmir Bhandar Scheme will be provided to eligible women of West Bengal :-

Eligibility Conditions Required to be Fulfilled
- The below-mentioned Eligibility Criteria is set by the Government of West Bengal for a Women Beneficiary in order to provide them a monthly financial assistance under the Lakshmir Bhandar Scheme :-
- Permanent Residents of West Bengal are Eligible to Apply.
- Applicant should be a woman.
- The Age of Women should be from 25 Years to 60 Years.
- Applicant Women should not be serving or Retired employees of the State or Central Government.
- Applicant Women should not be recipients of any other pension.
Ineligibility Conditions of the Scheme
- The Ineligibility Criteria of the Lakshmir Bhandar Scheme, which is set by the Government of West Bengal, are mentioned below :-
- If Applicant Women is a regular or retired employee of any of the below-mentioned category, then she is not eligible to apply under the Lakshmir Bhandar Scheme :-
- Government of India/ Central Government.
- State Government.
- Public Sector Undertaking.
- Government of India Undertaking.
- Village Panchayats.
- Municipal Corporations.
- Local Bodies.
- Government-aided Education Institute’s Teaching and Non-Teaching Staff.
- If an Applicant woman is a recipient of Salary or Pension from any source, then she is not eligible.
- If Applicant Women is a regular or retired employee of any of the below-mentioned category, then she is not eligible to apply under the Lakshmir Bhandar Scheme :-
Documents Required to be Attached
- The following documents is required to avail the benefit of monthly financial assistance under the Lakshmir Bhandar Scheme :-
- Lakshmir Bhandar Application Form.
- Applicant’s Passport Size Photo.
- Aadhar Card of Applicant.
- West Bengal Swasthya Sathi Card of Applicant.
- Applicant Caste Certificate.
- Bank Account Details.
- Self Declaration Form from Applicant that :-
- Applicant is a Permanent Resident of West Bengal.
- Applicant is not a recipient of any monthly salary or pension from any source.
How Beneficiaries Can Apply to Avail the Benefit of this Scheme
- Women of West Bengal can avail the benefit of financial assistance under the Lakshmir Bhandar Scheme by applying through Application Form of Lakshmir Bhandar Scheme.
- Application Form will be collected free of cost from Duare Sarkar Camp or from the office of the below-mentioned authority offices :-
- Block Development Officer.
- Sub Divisional Officer.
- Municipal Corporation.
- Fill the Application Form correctly and attach all the required documents.
- Submit the Application Form along with all the documents in the same Duare Sarkar Camp or in the following offices :-
- Block Development Officer.
- Sub Divisional Officer.
- Municipal Corporation.
- Application Form and Documents will be scrutinized by the concerned authority.
- Final approval to the application of beneficiaries will be given by the District Magistrate or the District Collector.
- Once the application is accepted or rejected, the beneficiary will be informed on their given mobile number.
- Financial Assistance of Lakshmir Bhandar Scheme will be transferred every month in the bank of beneficiary after application form is accepted.
- Beneficiaries can check their Status of Lakshmir Bhandar Scheme Application by Logging In to Lakshmir Bhandar Scheme Official Website.
- Simply enter the registered number in the Lakshmir Bhandar Scheme Website, Website will verify the mobile number by sending OTP.
- After mobile number verification, beneficiary can check their Application Status or Payment Status of the Lakshmir Bhandar Scheme.
Key Features of Scheme
- To avail the benefit of this Scheme, Swasthya Sathi Card or Aadhar Card will be a necessary required documents.
- Applicant will be registered and sufficient time will be given to apply for Swasthya Sathi Card or Aadhar Card in case of non availability of any document.
- If the beneficiary resides under the jurisdiction of the Kolkata Municipal Corporation, then the Commissioner of Kolkata Municipal Corporation is the sanctioning authority of Applications.
- Applicant below the Age of 25 Years and Above the Age of 60 Years are not eligible to apply under this Scheme.
