Introduction of Chief Minister Jibon Prerana Scheme Assam: A Brief Insight

  • Finance Minister of Assam Smt. Ajanta Neog presented the budget for the year 2025-2026 on the 10th of March 2025.
  • She announced lots of welfare schemes for the people of Assam.
  • One of the major educational reform schemes she announced is the “Chief Minister Jibon Prerana Scheme”.
  • This scheme has two major words “Jibon” which means “Life” and “Prerana” which means “Motivation”.
  • The main objective behind starting this scheme is to remove the financial challenges faced by graduates during their search of employment.
  • This scheme will provide financial stability to beneficiaries and encourage them to intense their job search without thinking about the financial expenses.
  • Government said Chief Minister Jibon Prerana Scheme is not an unemployment allowance scheme but a motivational support scheme that helps graduates and research scholars prepare for competitive exams, interviews, and entrepreneurial pursuits.
  • Further, the Government adds that this initiative is only meant for the  Bhagins (Girls) of our beloved Mukhyamantri.
  • One-time financial assistance will be provided to those girls who passed their graduation in the year 2025 fromthe  Government of Assam College or University.
  • Each Girl Beneficiary gets Rs. 25,000/- under Chief Minister Jibon Prerana Scheme.
  • Earlier, the Government decided to provide Rs. 2,500/- per month for 1 year but on the recommendation of the District Commissioner this monthly assistance has been replaced with one-time financial assistance of Rs. 25,000/-.
  • Apart from individual graduate girl beneficiaries, both male and female research scholars of State and Central Government University will also get one-time financial assistance of Rs. 25,000/-.
  • If a research scholar is disabled/ divyang then he/ she will get Rs. 50,000/- financial assistance under Assam Government’s Chief Minister Jibon Prerana Scheme.
  • Former, Current, and Future Girl Beneficiaries of the Mukhyamantri Nijut Moina Scheme are not eligible to apply for financial assistance under this scheme.
  • The government of Assam allocated Rs. 25/- crore budget for the smooth implementation of this scheme.
  • Chief Minister Jibon Prerana Scheme will be launched by Assam Government in October 2025.
  • Until then, beneficiaries will have to wait for its launch.
  • After the implementation, this scheme will be known by some other popular names which are “Mukhyamantri Jibon Prerana Scheme Assam” or “Chief Minister Jibon Prerana Yojana Assam” or “Mukhyamantri Jibon Prerana Yojana Assam”.

Benefits Provided to Eligible Beneficiaries

  • Government of Assam will provide the following benefits to all eligible girls students and research scholars under its newly announced Chief Minister Jibon Prerana Scheme :-
    • One Time Financial Assistance of Rs. 25,000/- to Graduation Passed Girl Students.
    • Girl who Passed their Graduation in the year 2025 will get the Assistance.
    • Research Scholars will also get Rs. 25,000/- One Time Assistance. (Both Male and Female)
    • Disabled (Divyang) Research Scholars will get Rs. 50,000/- Financial Assistance.

Eligibility Conditions Required to be Fulfilled

  • One-time financial assistance of Rs. 25,000/- will be provided to only those beneficiaries who fulfill the below-mentioned eligibility criteria of Assam Government’s Chief Minister Jibon Prerana Scheme :-
    • Only Permanent Resident Girls of Assam are Eligible to Apply.
    • Girl Students who Passed Graduation in the year 2025 will only get Assistance.
    • Girl Students should have Passed their Graduation from Assam Government College or University.
    • Research Scholars from Government colleges or Universities are also Eligible to Get Assistance.
    • Both Male and Female Scholars doing Research in State and Central Universities are Eligible.
    • Current or Former Beneficiaries of the Mukhyamantri Nijut Moina Scheme are not Eligible.

Documents Required to be Attached

  • Beneficiary Students will have to attach the below-mentioned expected documents at the time of applying for one-time financial assistance under Chief Minister Jibon Prerana Scheme of the Government of Assam :-
    • Residence Proof of Assam or Domicile Certificate.
    • Aadhaar Card of Beneficiary.
    • Mobile Number and Email.
    • Bank Account Number with IFSC Code.
    • Marksheet and Degree of Graduation. (For Graduate Passed Students)
    • Post Graduation and Research-related Documents. (For Research Scholars)
    • Disability Certificate. (For Disabled Applicants)

How Beneficiaries Can Avail the Benefit of this Scheme

  • Finance Minister of Assam Smt. Ajanta Neog announced to start of Chief Minister Jibon Prerana Scheme in the State while presenting the budget on 10th of March 2025.
  • One-time financial assistance will be provided to eligible girl beneficiaries under this scheme.
  • This scheme will be launched in October 2025.
  • The concerned Department of Assam Government will soon start to draft the Official Guidelines of the Scheme.
  • The cabinet will then give its approval to implement in the whole of the State.
  • With the available sources, the Application Process of Chief Minister Jibon Prerana Scheme is not clear.
  • It depends on the respective department to accept applications from beneficiaries through Online Application Mode or through Offline Application Mode.
  • There will be a possibility that applications under this scheme can be accepted through the Online Application Form, for this Chief Minister Jibon Prerana Scheme Official Website might get launched by the Government of Assam.
  • So, beneficiaries will have to wait a little longer in order to avail the benefit of one-time financial assistance under the Jibon Prerana Scheme of the Assam Government.
