Introduction of Atal Canteen Yojana: A Brief Insight
- Election Commission of India is going to conduct Legislative Assemnbly Election for the year 2025 in Delhi on 05-02-2025.
- The result of election will then announced on 8th of February 2025..
- Aam Aadmi Party, Bharatiya Janta Party, Congress Party and all other political parties announced lots of pre election promises which are popularly known as freebies to lure the voters and to secure their vote bank.
- Announcing pre election welfare schemes is the best way to get votes because the parties will only liable to get them fulfilled if they win the election.
- At the time of Karnataka Assembly Election, Congress Party started this trend to promise voters the welfare schemes.
- After that every political party in every State Assembly Election try this trick to lure the voters and turn air in favour of their party.
- Political Weather is heating up in Delhi, the current Aam Aadmi Party led Delhi Government had also announced welfare scheme as pre election promise so that they can regain the power in Delhi.

- “Yuva Udaan Yojana” is announced for the youths by Congress Party in which Rs. 8,500/- per month for one year period plust one year apprenticeship training will be provided for skill development.
- The last major announced scheme of Congress Party is “Mehngai Mukti Yojana” in which monthly Family Ration Kit and Domestic LPG Gas Cylinder at Rs. 500/- will be provided.
- Now recently Bharatiya Janta Party released its election manifesto for Delhi Election in which party announced 8 election promises in the form of schemes for people of Delhi.
- Bharatiya Janta Party’s first election promise is “Mahila Samriddhi Yojana” in whcih monetary assistance of Rs. 2,500/- per month will be provided to all eligible women beneficiaries.
- Mukhyamantri Matritva Suraksha Yojana is announced for Pregnant Women of Delhi in which one time financial assistance of Rs. 21,000/- with 6 Poshan Kit will be provided.
- And the latest one is “Atal Canteen Yojana” which is announced specifically for poor people who are not capable of managing their families’ daily food needs.
- If BJP wins the election then in every slum areas and in JJ Clusters, Atal Canteen will be established in which tasty and nutritious food will be provided to people.
- Beneficiaries will get food plate at just Rs. 5/- in Atal Canteens.
- BJP promised that they will approve Atal Canteen Yojana which is also going to be know by “Atal Canteen Scheme” in the first cabinet meeting after winning the Delhi Legislative Assembly Election.
- BJP’s other major pre election promises for the people of Delhi are to increase the pension amount of Delhi Old Age Pension Scheme and Widow Pension Scheme and “Free LPG Gas Cylinders on Holi and Deepavali”.

- Nutritious and Tasty Food at Low Cost will be Provided.
- People will get Food Plate at just Rs. 5/-.
- Slums and JJ Cluster Area Residents can get Food Plate at Rs. 5/- from Atal Canteen.
Eligibility Conditions Required to be Fulfilled
- Tasty and Nutritious Food at Rs. 5/- per plate at Atal Canteen under Atal Canteen Yojana will only provided to those beneficiaries who fulfill the below-mentioned eligibility criteria of scheme :-
- Residents of Delhi are Eligible to use Atal Canteens.
- Beneficiary should be Residing in Slums (Jhuggi-Jhopdi) or in JJ Clusters.
Documents Required to be Attached
- In order to get nutritious and tasty food at Atal Canteens which will going to be open under Atal Canteen Yojana, beneficiary will have to show any one of the below mentioned documents :-
- Aadhar Card.
- Voter Identity Card.
- Ration Card.
How Beneficiaries Can Avail the Benefit of this Scheme
- After Mahila Samriddhi Yojana and Mukhyamantri Matritva Suraksha Yojana, Atal Canteen Yojana is another pre election promise of BJP.
- If BJP wins the upcoming Delhi Legislative Assembly Election then Atal Canteen will be opened in Slums and JJ Cluster Areas.
- There will be no need to apply separately for Atal Canteen Yojana.
- Eligible Beneficiaries will visit the canteen at Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner time and avail the benefit of tasty and nutritious food at just Rs. 5/- per plate.
- But this promise of Bharatiya Janta Party to open Atal Canteens will only fulfilled if with the support of people party will win the election of Delhi.
