Introduction of Chhattisgarh Mukhyamantri Tirth Darshan Yojana: A Brief Insight
- Chhattisgarh Government launched Mukhyamantri Tirth Darshan Yojana (छत्तीसगढ़ मुख्यमंत्री तीर्थ दर्शन योजना) on 27-03-2025.
- The main objective behind starting this scheme is to fulfill the wishes of the residents of Chhattisgarh to visit famous religious places across India once in a lifetime.
- Government of Chhattisgarh’s Social Welfare Department will implement this scheme in whole of the State.
- Chhattisgarh Government under its Mukhyamantri Tirth Darshan Yojana will provide the facility to eligible people to travel to the famous religious sites of the country free of cost.
- Expenses on travelling, food, and accommodation will be borne by the Chhattisgarh Govt.
- Initially, 19 famous religious sites are available to visit, out of which applicants can choose according to their choice and travel without spending any money.
- Senior Citizens, Widows, Destitute Women and Physically Challenged People are eligible to travel and visit free of cost to famous religious places under Mukhyamantri Tirth Darshan Yojana of Chhattisgarh Government.
- Each category beneficiary has a different age criterion in which the senior citizen applicants’ age should be 60 years or more, Widows and Destitute Women Age’s should be less than 60 years and the age of physically challenged beneficiaries should be 18 years or more.
- If any applicant is an income tax payer or a Government serving/ retired employee, then they are not eligible to apply for Mukhyamantri Tirth Darshan Yojana of the Chhattisgarh Government.
- The government is also providing the attendant facility to those applicants whose age are 65 years are more and for the disabled, there is no minimum age criterion to carry an attendant.
- There is no online application form or website of Mukhyamantri Tirth Darshan Yojana available through which applicants can apply online.
- Only the offline facility is available, and the Mukhyamantri Teerth Darshan Yojana Offline Application Form can be collected from the Gram Panchayat or the Municipal Commissioner’s Office.
- Interested Applicants can also apply for “Shri Ram Lalla Darshan Yojana” in which the benefit of a free of cost visit to Shri Ayodhya Dham to see Shri Ram Mandir will be provided.

Benefits Provided to Eligible Beneficiaries
- Government of Chhattisgarh will provide the following benefits to all eligible people of the State under Mukhyamantri Tirth Darshan Yojana :-
- Free of cost visit to famous religious places across India.
- All expenses will be borne by the Government of Chhattisgarh.
- The government will arrange the travel, accommodation and food.
- Special Train Escort, Security and Medical Personnel are also accompanying during travel.

- Devotees from Chhattisgarh can visit any one of the following famous religious places across India free of cost under Mukhyamantri Tirth Darshan Yojana. However, the list of religious places may change as per the discretion of the Chhattisgarh Government :-

Eligibility Conditions Required to be Fulfilled
- The benefit of a free of cost visit to famous religious places across the country will be provided by the Chhattisgarh Government to only those beneficiary applicants who meet the below-mentioned eligibility criteria of Mukhyamantri Tirth Darshan Yojana :-
- Permanent Resident Applicants of Chhattisgarh are Eligible to Apply.
- Applicant Devotee should belong to any one of the following category :-
- Old Age People.
- Widows.
- Destitute Women.
- Physically Challenged People.
- The Age of Applicants should be :-
- 60 years or more :- Old Age People.
- Less than 60 years :- Widows and Destitute Women.
- More than 18 years :- Physically Challenged Applicant.
- Applicant should be physically and Mentally Fit.
- Applicant should not be an income tax payer.
- Applicant should not be a Serving or Retired Government Employee.
- Attendant Facility is available only for those Applicants who are Disabled or whose age is 65 years or more.
- The Age of Attendant should be between 21 years to 50 years.
Documents Required to be Attached
- The following documents will be required to be attached with the Application Form of Mukhyamantri Tirth Darshan Yojana of the Government of Chhattisgarh :-
- Current Passport Size Photo.
- Family Ration Card.
- Voter Identity Card.
- Age Proof.
- Mobile Number.
- Certificate from the Sarpanch. (For Rural Area Residents)
- Certificate from Ward Parshad. (For Nagar Nigam Area Residents)
- Blood Group Certificate of Applicant.
- Medically Fit Certificate.
How Beneficiaries Can Apply to Avail the Benefit of this Scheme
- Beneficiary Devotees who wish to visit famous pilgrimage sites in India can apply for the Chhattisgarh Government’s Mukhyamantri Tirth Darshan Yojana through the Application Form.
- Application Form of Mukhyamantri Tirth Darshan Yojana can be collected free of cost at any one of the following government offices :-
- Gram Panchayat Office. (For Rural Area Applicants)
- Nagar Nigam/ Municipal Corporation Office. ( For Urban Area Applicants)
- Collect the Application Form from any one of the above-mentioned offices and fill it carefully.
- Attach all the required documents with the CM Tirth Darshan Yojana Application Form such as, Age Proof, Identity Proof, Medical Fitness Certificate etc.
- Submit Mukhyamantri Teerth Darshan Yojana Application Form along with all the attached documents to the same office of the Gram Panchayat or Municipal Corporation.
- Concerned Officials will initially verify the received application forms and documents and make a list of eligible applicants.
- The list of Applicants found to be eligible to travel to religious places will then be forwarded to the Social Welfare Department for further approval.
- Applicants selected for a free of cost visit to famous religious places of the country under Mukhyamantri Tirth Darshan Yojana of the Chhattisgarh Government will be informed through SMS on their registered mobile number about the date and time of travel.
- Beneficiaries will have to reach the nearest departure point to board the train or bus as organized by the Government.
- In case any help or assistance is required regarding Mukhyamantri Tirth Darshan Yojana of the Chhattisgarh Government, beneficiary devotee can contact their area’s Sarpancha or Municipal Commissioner or District Social Welfare Officer.
