Introduction of Chief Minister Fellowship Programme Maharashtra: A Brief Insight

• Maharashtra Government started the Chief Minister Fellowship Programme in the year 2015.
• The main objective of the government behind launching this type of programme is to nourish the skills of the youth of Maharashtra by providing them short-term employment and providing them real-time skill training so that they can do well in their future with this experience.
• This programme was stopped by the MVA Government in the year 2020 when the government changed in Maharashtra.
• But in the year 2023, the Mahayuti Alliance won the assembly election of Maharashtra and again started the Chief Minister Fellowship Programme for youths.
• Government of Maharashtra will now provide 1-year (12 months) fellowship to eligible youths under this scheme and give them an opportunity to work directly under District Collectors and CEOs of Zilla Parishads.
• This scheme is implemented by the Directorate of Economics and Statistics of the Maharashtra Government.
• Selected Fellows will get a monthly fellowship stipend of Rs. 56,100/- under the CM Fellowship Programme of the Maharashtra Government.
• Apart from this, fellows will also get Rs. 5,400/- for travelling and other expenses and accidental insurance cover for 12 months.
• Government will also provide a Certificate from IIT Bombay to selected fellows after the completion of the fellowship.

2025-2026 Schedule of Chief Minister Fellowship Program

Eligibility Conditions Required to be Fulfilled

• Fellowship Opportunity of 1 year with a monthly stipend of Rs. 61,500/- per month under the Chief Minister Fellowship Programme of the Maharashtra Government will only be provided to those eligible youths who fulfill the below-mentioned eligibility criteria :-
  • Only Permanent Residents of Maharashtra are eligible to Apply.
  • The Age of the Applicant Youth should be between 21 to 26 years.
  • Applicant Youth should have passed graduation in any discipline with a minimum of 60% marks.
  • Proficiency in Hindi, English, and Marathi is mandatory.
  • Minimum 1 Year Full Time Work Experience will be needed.
