Introduction of Jharkhand Mukhyamantri Abua Swasthya Suraksha Yojana: A Brief Insight

• Mukhyamantri Abua Swasthya Suraksha Yojana is the major welfare scheme of the Government of Jharkhand.
• It was launched in the whole of the State in the year 2024.
• The main objective of the Jharkhand Government behind launching Mukhyamantri Abua Swasthya Suraksha Yojana in the state is to provide high-quality medical services to all eligible people without taking note of expenses.
• This scheme is implemented by the Department of Health, Medical Education & Family Welfare of Jharkhand in collaboration with the State Arogya Society.
• The government will now provide free and cashless medical treatment to all eligible families of Jharkhand under its Mukhyamantri Abua Swasthya Suraksha Yojana.
• Each family can avail the free medical treatment up to Rs. 15 lakh per year under the Jharkhand Government’s Chief Minister Abua Swasthya Suraksha Yojana.
• Jharkhand Government runs this scheme simultaneously with the Central Government’s Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana.
• Cashless Treatment up to Rs. 5 lakh will be provided under PM Jan Arogya Yojana of the Central Government, and free medical treatment from Rs. 5 lakh to up to Rs. 15 lakh will be provided by the Jharkhand Government under Mukhyamantri Abua Swasthya Suraksha Yojana.
• Yellow, Green, or Pink Ration Card Holders’ families are eligible to get Abua Swasthya Card under this scheme and avail the benefit of cashless and free treatment up to Rs. 15 lakh in any government or empanelled hospitals.
• The government launched the Official Portal of Abua Swasthya Suraksha Yojna, through which members of eligible families can apply for their Abua Swasthya Card.
• Abua Swasthya Card can also be obtained by registering at Apki Yojana-Apki Sarkar-Apke Dwar Camps, which are organized by the government in every Gram Panchayat/ Sabha.
• Till date, more than 9 lakh applications have been received under Abua Swasthya Suraksha Yojana, out of which more than 2.5 lakh e-KYCs are done and more than 1.5 lakh Abua Swasthya Cards have been issued.
• It is estimated that Jharkhand’s 62 lakh families will get the benefit of free medical treatment up to Rs. 15 lakh under this scheme.
• Female members of eligible families can also apply for monthly financial assistance under another major welfare scheme of the Jharkhand Government’s Mukhyamantri Maiyya Samman Yojana.
• Eligible applicants can also explore “Abua Awaas Yojana” and apply for a house under this scheme if eligible.
• And, Advocates of Jharkhand can also enroll themselves under “Adhivakta Swasthya Bima Yojana” in which medical insurance cover will be provided by the government.

Benefits Provided to Eligible Beneficiaries

• Jharkhand Government will provide the following benefits to eligible families of the state under its Mukhyamantri Abua Swasthya Suraksha Yojana :-
  • Free and Cashless Medical Treatment up to Rs. 15 Lakh per year per family.
  • Medical treatment up to Rs. 5 lakh will be covered under PM Jan Arogya Yojana.
  • The remaining 10 Lakh medical treatment cost will be covered under Mukhyamantri Abua Swasthya Suraksha Yojana.

Eligibility Conditions Required to be Fulfilled

• Free and Cashless Treatment up to Rs. 15 Lakh under the Mukhyamantri Abua Swasthya Suraksha Yojana of the Government of Jharkhand will be provided to only those families who fulfill the below-mentioned eligibility criteria of scheme :-
  

  Permanent Residents of Jharkhand are Eligible to Apply. Beneficiary Family should have any one of the Valid Ration Card :- Yellow Ration Card Green Ration Card Pink Ration Card Families covered under Ayushman Bharat PM Jan Arogya Yojana are also eligible to apply.

How Beneficiaries Can Apply to Avail the Benefit of this Scheme

• Beneficiary Applicants can apply for the Abua Swasthya Card to get free and cashless treatment up to Rs. 15 lakh under the Mukhyamantri Abua Swasthya Suraksha Yojana through the following ways :-
  • Through the Online Application Form.
  • Through the Offline Application Form.

Online Application Process

• Jharkhand Government provides the facility to applicants to get their Abua Swasthya Card by themselves through the Online Application Form.
• Beneficiary Applicant can apply through the Mukhyamantri Abua Swasthya Suraksha Yojana Official Portal.
• Open the Portal and log in as Beneficiary and enter your mobile number.
  
• Mobile Number will be verified by the portal through OTP authentication.
  
• It is mandatory to have a Ration Card (Family ID) to fill the Mukhyamantri Abua Swasthya Suraksha Yojana Online Application Form.
  
• Enter the Ration Card Number and Click on Search.
• The portal will fetch the details of the family members.
• Beneficiary Applicant will have to choose the name of the family member and click on E KYC.
• E KYC is important, which can be done through the Aadhaar Number.
  
• Once the e-KYC is successful, the applicant can generate the Abua Swasthya Card from the portal.
• Abua Swasthya Card can be used in any government or empanelled hospital to avail cashless and free medical treatment up to Rs. 15 lakh per year.

Offline Application Process

• Residents of Jharkhand can also apply for the Abua Swasthya Card, which is being made under the Mukhyamantri Abua Swasthya Suraksha Yojana of the Jharkhand Government through an Offline Application Form.
• Under the Apki Yojana-Apki Sarkar-Apke Dwar initiative of the Jharkhand Government, Camps will be organized in every gram sabha or gram panchayat.
• Eligible Beneficiaries will have to visit the camps with their Aadhaar Card and Ration Card.
• Official present at the camps will collect the details from the applicant and fill out their Application Form of Mukhyamantri Abua Swasthya Suraksha Scheme.
• E KYC of the applicant will be done on the spot through Aadhaar or fingerprint or face authentication.
• Acknowledgement Receipt will be provided to the applicant after registration under the Government of Jharkhand’s Chief Minister Abua Swasthya Suraksha Scheme.
• Abua Swasthya Card will be generated in the name of the applicant after successful completion of e-KYC, which can be downloaded from the Official Website of Mukhyamantri Abua Swasthya Suraksha Yojana of the Government of Jharkhand.
• Application Status of Mukhyamantri Abua Swasthya Suraksha Yojana can be checked by entering the Acknowledgement Number and registered Mobile Number.
