Introduction of Uttarakhand Mukhyamantri Ekal Mahila Swarojgar Yojana: A Brief Insight

• Uttarakhand Government is all set to launch a unique self-employment scheme for women in the State, “Mukhyamantri Ekal Mahila Swarojgar Yojana.”
• Cabinet of the Uttarakhand Government has already given its approval to start this scheme.
• This scheme is implemented by the Department of Women Empowerment and Child Development of the Government of Uttarakhand.
• The main objective of the government behind starting this scheme is to provide a financial push to those women who are interested in starting their own self-employment business activity.
• The Uttarakhand Women Self-Employment Scheme will make women self-reliant financially.
• Business Loans will be provided to all eligible women beneficiaries under the Mukhyamantri Ekal Mahila Swarojgar Yojana.

Benefits Provided to Eligible Beneficiaries

• Women applicants will receive the following benefits fromthe  Uttarakhand Government under its Mukhyamantri Ekal Mahila Swarojgar Yojana :-
  • Business loans from Rs. 50,000/- to Rs. 2 lakh will be provided.
  • Government will provide 75% Subsidy on the Cost of the Project or a Maximum of Rs. 1,50,000/-.
  • Remaining Loan Amount will have to be returned by the Women Beneficiary.

Eligibility Conditions Required to be Fulfilled

• Business Loans and Government Subsidy will only be provided to those beneficiaries who fulfill the below-mentioned eligibility conditions of Mukhyamantri Ekal Mahila Swarojgar Yojana of Uttarakhand Government :-
  

  Women applicants should be Permanent residents of Uttarakhand. The Age of the Women Applicant should be more than 21 years and less than 50 years. There should be a minimum Rs. 25,000/- in the Bank Account of the Women Applicant. The Annual Family Income of Women Applicants should not be more than Rs. 72,000/- per year. Women applicants should not be beneficiaries of any other Scheme of the Uttarakhand Government. Women applicants should not be a Bank Defaulter. Women applicants belonging to any one of the below-mentioned categories are eligible to Apply :- Destitute Woman. Unmarried Woman. Widow Woman. Abandoned Woman. Transgender. Disabled Women. Crime and Acid Attack Victim.
