That time congress led Rajasthan Government started Free Electricity Scheme upto 100 units in State. But after BJP comes in power, the Chief Minister Free Electricity Scheme of Rajasthan Government is closed by them. Introduction of RJ CM Free Electricity Scheme

• Chief Minister Free Electricity Scheme is the most prominent scheme of Rajasthan Government.
• It was launched by Rajasthan Government on 1^st of April 2023.
• The main reason behind starting Chief Minister Free Electricity Scheme is to provide relief to residents of Rajasthan in terms of expenses incurred on consumption of Electricity.
• This scheme is known by many names in Rajasthan such as :-
  • “Mukhyamantri Gharelu Vidhyut Anudan Yojana”.
  • “RJ Free Electricity Scheme”.
  • “RJ Electricity Subsidy Scheme”.
  • “RJ Free Domestic Electricity Scheme”.
• Rajasthan Government’s Department of Energy is the responsible department of this scheme.
• Government of Rajasthan will provide free of cost electricity to all residents of Rajasthan who has domestic electricity connections in their house.
• Residents of Rajasthan who consumes monthly electricity up to 100 units are eligible to get free of cost electricity under Chief Minister Free Electricity Scheme.
• This means, they do not have to pay any charges if their monthly domestic consumption is less than 100 units per month.
• Earlier, Government of Rajasthan was providing free of cost electricity to residents of Rajasthan up to 50 Units.
• But in the year 2023, Rajasthan Government takes major step and extend this limit of free unit to 100 units per month.
• Domestic Electricity Connection Holder are only eligible beneficiaries for free electricity under Rajasthan Chief Minister Free Electricity Scheme.
• Residents of Rajasthan who has Commercial Electricity Connection are not eligible for free electricity under this scheme.
• Apart from free electricity up to 100 units, there is a provision of subsidized rates of electricity for those who consumes electricity up to 300 units per month.
• Subsidy Rs. 3/- per Unit will be provided to those domestic electricity consumers who consumes more than 100 units but less 150 units electricity per month.
• Subsidy of Rs. 2/- per Unit will be provided to those domestic electricity consumers who consumes more than 150 units but less than 300 units of electricity per month.
• It is to be estimated that more than 1.15 crore people of Rajasthan is going to benefitted under Rajasthan Chief Minister Free Electricity Scheme.
• There is a very simple way to get subsidy on electricity bill in Rajasthan.
• Eligible Domestic Electricity Consumers can register themselves in their nearest Mehngai Rahat Camp and avail the benefit of free of cost electricity up to 100 units under Rajasthan Chief Minister Free Electricity Scheme.

Benefits Provided to Beneficiaries

• Below Mentioned benefits will be provided to Eligible Beneficiaries of Rajasthan under Chief Minister Free Electricity Scheme of Rajasthan Government :-
  

  Free of Cost Electricity up to 100 Units per Month will be provided. Beneficiary has no need to pay any charges if the monthly electricity consumption is less than 100 Units. Subsidy of Rs. 3/- per Unit on Monthly Electricity Consumption of 100 Units to 150 Units. Subsidy of Rs. 2/- per Unit on Monthly Electricity Consumption of 150 Units to 300 Units.

Eligibility Conditions Needed to be Fulfilled

• The following eligibility conditions is set by Rajasthan Government to avail the benefit of Free Electricity under Rajasthan Government’s Chief Minister Free Electricity Scheme :-
  

  Beneficiary should be a Permanent Resident of Rajasthan. Beneficiary should have Domestic Electricity Connection at his/ her House. The Monthly Electricity Consumption of Beneficiary should not be more than 100 Units.

How Applicant Can Apply to Get Free Electricity

• Eligible Beneficiary has to Register themselves in order to avail the benefit of free electricity.
• Registration of RJ Chief Minister Free Electricity Scheme will be done in Mehngai Rahat Camp.
• Beneficiary has to visit their nearest Mehngai Rahat Camp for Free Electricity Registration.
• Jan Aadhar Card and Domestic Electricity Bill is the essential document needed for registration.
• Earlier Rajasthan Government is providing free domestic electricity up to 50 Units per month.
• So in order to avail the benefit of free electricity up to 100 units or subsidy up to 300 units, registration in mehngai rahat camp for Chief Minister Free Electricity Scheme is must for consumers.
• So according to new guidelines, Residents of Rajasthan will get below mentioned benefits under Chief Minister Free Electricity Scheme :-
  • Free of Cost Electricity up to 100 Units.
  • Subsidy of Rs. 3/- per Unit will be provided, if per month electricity consumption is more than 100 Units but Less than 150 Units.
  • Subsidy of Rs. 2/- per Unit will be provided, if per month electricity consumption is more than 150 Unit but Less than 300 Units.
