Introduction of Kalyana Lakshmi Scheme: A Brief Insight

• Telangana Kalyana Lakshmi Scheme is the major welfare scheme of Telangana Government for the welfare of those poor brides.
• It was started by Honorable Chief Minister Sh. Kalavakunta Chandrashekar Rao on October 2nd 2014.
• The nodal department of this scheme is Department of Backward Class Welfare.
• As we all know that marriage is an expensive affair.
• Lakhs of Rupees will be needed for the marriage of girl to arrange the wedding function and to give gifts to girl from her parents.
• A lots of girl in Telangana State belongs to the poor family of which they are not able to bear the expenses of the marriage.
• So the main reason behind launching Kalyana Lakshmi Scheme is to provide financial assistance to the poor brides of Telangana for their marriage.
• This financial assistance will help them to arrange all the necessary things wants to be needed in the marriage.
• Government of Telangana’s Kalyana Lakshmi Scheme is become the boon in the life of poor people of Telangana State.
• The other name of this scheme is “Telangana Financial Assistance Scheme for Marriage” or “Telangana Kalyana Lakshmi Pathakam”.
• Under Kalyana Lakshmi Scheme, Telangana Government will provide financial assistance of Rs. 1,00,116/- (One Lakh, One Hundred, Sixteen Rupees Only) to the eligible brides of the Telangana State.
• In the earlier stage, the financial assistance of Rs, 51,000/- (Fifty One Thousand Rupees Only) were given to the brides for their marriage.
• But in 2017, Government of Telangana revised this amount to Rs. 75,116/- (Seventy Thousand, One Hundred and Sixteen Rupees Only).
• Then in 2018, Telangana Government further increased this amount to Rs. 1,00,116/- (One Lakh, One Hundred Sixteen Rupees Only) to give major relief to the poor brides of State.
• Now newly formed Congress Government will also provide 10 Grams of Gold under Kalyana Lakshmi Pathakam of Telangana.
• The Brides belonging to the below-mentioned category are only eligible to apply for monetary assistance under Kalyana Lakshmi Scheme :-
  • Schedule Caste.
  • Schedule Tribe.
  • Backward Class.
  • Economically Backward Class.
• The annual income of the bride’s family belongs to Schedule Caste and Schedule Tribe should not be more than Rs. 2,00,000/- (Two Lakh Rupees Only) to avail the benefit of this Scheme.
• Annual Income of Bridels family who belongs to Economically Backward Class and Backward Class should not be more than below mentioned limit :-
  • Rs. 2,00,000/- (Two Lakh Rupees Only) in Urban Areas.
  • Rs. 1,50,000/- (One Lakh Fifty Thousand Rupees Only) in Rural Areas.
• Eligible Bride’s of Telangana State will apply through Online ePass Portal to avail the benefit of Kalyana Lakshmi Scheme.
• Minority Applicant’s can apply for financial assistance for marriage under Shaadi Mubaarak Scheme.

Benefits Provided to Eligible Beneficiaries

• The following Financial Assistance will be provided to the beneficiaries under Kalyana Lakshmi Scheme :-
  

  Rs. 1,00,116/- (One Lakh, One Hundred, Sixteen Rupees Only). 10 Gram of Gold.

Eligibility Conditions Required to be Fulfilled

• Eligibility Criteria fixed by the Telangana Government to avail the benefit of financial assistance for marriage under Kalyana Lakshmi Scheme are as follows :-
  

  Brides of Telangana are only eligible to apply. Age of Bride should be 18 Years and Above. Bride should be belong to any of the below mentioned category :- Schedule Caste. Schedule Tribe. Backward Class. Economically Backward Class. The Annual Family Income of Bride belongs to Schedule Caste and Schedule Tribe should be below Rs. 2,00,000/- (Two Lakh Rupees Only). The annual income of the bride’s family belongs to Backward Class and Economically Backward Class should be :- Rs. 2,00,000/- (Two Lakh Rupees Only) in Urban Areas. Rs. 1,50,000/- (One Lakh Fifty Thousand Rupees Only) in Rural Areas.

Documents Required to be Attached

• The Following Documents will be required at the time of applying for financial assistance under Kalyana Lakshmi Scheme of Telangana Government :-
  

  Photograph of Bride. Bride Birth Certificate or Any Age Proof. Aadhar Card of Bride. Aadhar Card of Bride’s Mother. Aadhar Card of Bride Groom. Certificate of 1st Marriage. Bank Account Details of Bride and Bride’s Mother. Income Certificate of the Family.

How Beneficiaries Bride Can Apply to Avail the Benefit of this Scheme

• Beneficiary can apply for Kalyana Lakshmi Scheme through Online Application Form.
• Online Application Form is available on Telangana’s ePass Portal.
• First the bride should have Register herself.
• Now the Registration Form will appear on the Screen.
• Fill the below mentioned details in phase wise :-
  • Bride Details.
  • Income Certificate Details.
  • Permanent Address of Bride.
  • Present Address of Bride.
  • Bank Account Details of Bride.
  • Bank Account Details of Bride’s Mother.
  • Bride Groom Details.
  • Permanent Address of Bride Groom.
  • Details of Marriage.
  • Documents Upload.
• Once all the particulars filled correctly, fill the captcha code and submit it.
• Application Form is submitted and Application Number will be generated by Portal.
• Beneficiary can also check their Application Status by filling this Application Number and Mobile Number on the portal.
• Application Form and Documents are subject to verification.
• Once verified by welfare officer, the financial amount of this Scheme will be transferred to the given bank account of the beneficiary.

Key Features of Scheme

• Received Applications of Kalyana Lakshmi Scheme will be allotted to Village Revenue Officer by Tehsildar concerned for Verification.
• Field Inquiry will be conducted by Village Revenue Officer.
• Following things will be verified by Village Revenue Officer during his field inquiry visit :-
  • Address of Bride and Groom.
  • Income Eligibility.
  • Aadhar Card Details of Bride and Groom.
  • Caste Certificate if Any.
  • Any Other Relevant Details to be Verified.
• Once the field verification is done, the application form and documents of Kalyana Lakshmi Scheme will be forwarded to Tehsildar for further approval.
• After Tehsildar approval the application then forwarded to MLA concerned for approval.
• Then application will be forwarded for payment and the financial assistance under Kalyana Lakshmi Scheme will be transferred into the bank account of beneficiary.
