Introduction of Uttar Pradesh Rani Laxmi Bai Scooty Yojana: A Brief Insight

• On 21-02-2025, the Uttar Pradesh Government presents its State Budget for the year 2025-2026.
• As expected, the government announced lots of welfare schemes for the upliftment of people ofthe  State which will be launched in the coming days.
• With an objective to encourage girl students to pursue higher education, the Government of Uttar Pradesh announced a new scheme in its budget.
• The name of the scheme is “Rani Laxmi Bai Scooty Yojana”. (उत्तर प्रदेश रानी लक्ष्मी बाई स्कूटी योजना)
• Higher Education Department of the Uttar Pradesh Government will be the implementing department of this scheme.
• The main aim behind starting this scheme is to motivate young girls to pursue higher education after completing their higher secondary education.
• As it clear from the name of this scheme, scooty will be provided to all eligible and meritorious female students under Rani Laxmi Bai Scooty Yojana of the Uttar Pradesh Government.
• Scooty will be provided to meritorious students completely free of cost under this scheme.
• As per available information, free-of-cost scooty under Uttar Pradesh Government’s Rani Laxmi Bai Scooty Yojana will only be provided to meritorious girl students who are currently studying in higher education courses.
• Government of Uttar Pradesh allocates 400 crore for this scheme for its smooth implementation in the State.

• Government of Uttar Pradesh will provide the following benefits to all eligible students under its newly announced Rani Laxmi Bai Scooty Yojana :-
  • Scooty will be provided to Meritorious Girl Students.

Eligibility Conditions Required to be Fulfilled

• Free of Cost Scooty under Rani Laxmi Bai Scooty Yojana will be provided by the Uttar Pradesh Government to those students who fulfil the following eligibility criteria of the scheme :-
  • Students should be Permanent residents of Uttar Pradesh.
  • Only Girl Students are Eligible to get a Scooty.
  • The student should be Currently Pursuing Higher Education.
  • A student should be a Meritorious One.
