Introduction of Delhi Laxmi Yojana: A Brief Insight
Many women from economically weaker families struggle to meet daily household expenses without a regular source of income. To provide financial support and improve their economic independence, the Government of NCT of Delhi approved the Laxmi Yojana on 8 March 2025, coinciding with International Women’s Day. The scheme was initially announced as Mahila Samriddhi Yojana and is now being implemented under the name Laxmi Yojana.
Under the Laxmi Yojana of the Delhi Government, eligible women are to receive Rs. 2,500 per month through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) into their Aadhaar-linked bank accounts.
