Arundhati Gold Scheme was started by Government of Assam in the year 2020. The objective of State Government to start this scheme is to support the girls of state financially so that they can easily purchase Gold for her marriage. Introduction of Arundhati Gold Scheme: A Brief Insight

• Marriage is the most expensive affair in anyone’s life.
• And if Marriage is of Girls then you need a treasure to spend in these days.
• Lots of low income family groups faces difficulties to borne the expenses of marriage of their girl.
• To help those families, Government of Assam started a major welfare scheme for the welfare of Brides of State of Assam.
• Assam’s Arundhati Gold Scheme plays a major role in the life of poor people of Assam State.
• It was started on January 1st, 2020.
• Assam Government’s Department of Revenue and Disaster Management is the nodal department of this scheme.
• This scheme is also known by other names, “Assam Arundhati Gold Achoni”.
• The main objective behind launching this scheme is to stop child marriages happening in Assam.
• Under the Arundhati Gold Scheme, the Government of Assam will provide financial assistance of Rs. 40,000/- (Forty Thousand Rupees Only) to buy the Gold for Marriage.
• The money provided under the Assam Arundhati Gold Scheme is only for the purchase of Gold.
• The purchased gold can then be gifted to the bride for her marriage.
• Only Permanent Residents of Assam are eligible to apply for Arundhati Gold Scheme.
• Marriage Registration in District Registrar’s Office is necessary.
• The age of Bride and bridegroom should be 18 Years and 21 Years respectively.
• The annual family income of Bride should not be more than Rs. 5,00,000/- (Five Lakh Rupees Only).
• The other women-oriented scheme of Assam Government is Orunodoi Scheme in which monthly financial assistance of Rs. 1,250/- will be provided to eligible beneficiaries.
• Eligible beneficiaries can apply for the Arundhati Gold Scheme by submitting their online application at Assam Arundhati Gold Scheme Portal.

Benefits Provided to Eligible Beneficiaries

• The following benefits will be provided to brides of the State of Assam under the Arundhati Gold Scheme:-
  

  Rs. 40,000/- will be given as Financial Assistance to Buy Gold for her Marriage.

Eligibility Conditions Required to be Fulfilled

• The following Eligibility Conditions is set by the Assam Government to avail the benefit of Assam Arundhati Gold Scheme are as follows :-
  

  Bride should be a Permanent Resident of Assam. The Age of Bride should be 18 Years Completed. The Age of Bride Groom should be 21 Years Completed. Bride and Bride Groom should have passed Class 10th. The Bride Family Annual Income should not be more than Rs. 5,00,000/-. Registration of Marriage is Necessary to Apply. Marriage should be happened on or after 01-12-2019. Marriage should be Registered on or after 01-01-2020. No Education Related Document Required for Tea Tribe and Adivasi Applicants.

  Permanent Residence Certificate of Assam. Marriage Certificate. Certificate of Income. Bank Account Details. First Marriage Certificate Issued by Mouzdar/ Gaonburah of Village. Age Proof Required for Schedule Caste and Schedule Tribe Community :- 10th Pass Certificate. Certificate of Birth. Medical Examination Certificate. (If there is no Birth Certificate) Age Proof Required for Non SC/ ST, Non Tea Tribe and Adivasi Community :- 10th Pass Certificate. Age Proof Required (Any One) for Adivasi and Tea Tribe Community :- Bride and Groom Birth Certificate. Education Related Document. Medical Certificate.

How Beneficiaries Can Apply to Avail the Benefit of this Scheme

• The only way to apply for Assam Arundhati Gold Scheme is through Online Application Form.
• Online Application Form is available on Assam Arundhati Gold Scheme Portal.
• Before applying, Marriage Registration is necessary for this scheme.
• Fill the below mentioned details in Arundhati Gold Scheme Online Application Form :-
  • Caste/ Tribe Selection.
  • Families Annual Income.
  • District and Sub Registrar Office Name.
  • Bride and Bride Groom Personal Details.
  • Details of Bank Account.
  • Upload all the required documents like 10th Certificate, Income Certificate etc.
• Fill the Application Form properly as their will be no changes happen once submitted.
• Click on Submit and the Application Form will be submitted.
• Application Form and Documents will be subject to verification.
• Applicant has to visit the Sub Registrar Office of their district for physical verification.
• After physical verification, applicant will be informed through SMS on their given mobile number.
• Financial Assistance will be immediately transferred after the acceptance of Application of Assam Arundhati Gold Scheme.
• Beneficiaries can also Track their Application of Arundhati Gold Scheme through their Application Number and Mobile Number.

Key Features of Scheme

• Financial Assistance to purchase gold will only be given to those brides who have their first marriage takes place.
• Passing 10th is mandatory to avail the benefit of Arundhati Gold Scheme.
• But there is an exception for Tea Tribe and Adivasi Community as they do not need any education documents to apply for Assam Arundhati Gold Scheme.
• In the initial phase of this scheme, Government of Assam was given financial assistance of Rs. 30,000/- (Thirty Thousand Rupees Only)
• But then when the gold price hikes, the financial assistance to purchase gold is also increased to Rs. 40,000/- (Forty Thousand Rupees Only).
• Concerned Authorities will have to accept or reject the applications received under Arundhati Gold Scheme within 7 Days.
• Inspector General of Registration, Government of Assam will be the responsible authority to transfer the financial assistance.
• Beneficiaries can file any grievance or complaint related to Assam Arundhati Gold Scheme to District Registrar of their District.
