Introduction of Chhattisgarh Mahatari Vandan Yojana: A Brief Insight

Mahatari Vandan Yojana was launched by the Government of Chhattisgarh on 1^st of March 2024.
The primary objective of the government in initiating this scheme is to empower women of the state to become financially self-reliant, thereby enhancing their health and nutritional status.
Women and Child Development Department is the implementing department of this scheme.
Government of Chhattisgarh is providing monthly financial assistance to all eligible women of the State.
Each and every eligible woman is getting Rs. 1,000/- per month under the Mahatari Vandan Yojana of the Chhattisgarh Government.
Women applicants who are 21 years or older are eligible to apply under this scheme.
There is no minimum income eligibility criterion except for some ineligibility conditions, which is set by the government to maintain the transparency of this scheme.
For the year 2025-2026, the Chhattisgarh Government allocated a whopping budget of Rs. 5,500/- crore for the smooth implementation of Mahtari Vandan Yojana in the State.
To date, more than 70 lakh women beneficiaries have received Rs. 9,788.78/- crore in 15 months from its implementation.
Women Applicants have lots of options to apply for monthly assistance under the Mahtari Vandan Scheme.
The first way is to apply through its Official Website, which is open from time to time for applications.
The second way is to collect the offline application form from the Anganwadi Centre, Gram Panchayat or Ward Office, or from the CDPO Office.
The third and last way to apply under the Mahatari Vandan Yojana is through its Official Mobile Application, which is easily available on the Google Play Store and Apple Store.

Chhattisgarh Government also launched a new welfare scheme named “Mahatari Shakti Loan Scheme” for the beneficiary women of the Mahatari Vandan Scheme on 30-11-2024, in which a collateral-free loan of Rs. 25,000/- for self-employment will be provided.

All Eligible Women will get the following benefits from the Chhattisgarh Government under its Mahatari Vandan Yojana:-

Eligibility Conditions Required to be Fulfilled

Monthly Financial Assistance of Rs. 1,000/- per month will only be provided to those women beneficiaries who meet the below-mentioned eligibility criteria of Government of Chhattisgarh’s Mahatari Vandan Yojana :-
- Permanent Resident Women of Chhattisgarh are Eligible to Apply.
- The Age of the Applicant Women should not be less than 21 years.
- Widow, Abandoned and Divorcee Women Applicants are also Eligible to Apply.

If any woman applicant falls within any of the below-mentioned ineligibility categories, then she is not eligible to apply for monthly assistance as promised bythe Chhattisgarh Government under Mahatari Vandan Yojana :-
- Any Family member is an Income Tax Payee.
- Any Family member is a Permanent or Contractual Employee of the State/ Central Government or PSU or Local Body.
- Any Family member is a Current or Former MP or MLA.
- Any Family member is a Current or Former President or Vice President of any Central or State Government’s Board, Corporation, or Mandal.

Any one document for resident proof :-
- Ration Card.
- Domicile.

Online Application Process through the Official Website

Mahatari Vandan Yojana has its official website through which eligible women applicants can apply for monthly financial assistance.

Women can also apply for the Mahatari Vandan Yojana through an Offline Application Form.
Chhattisgarh Government’s Mahatari Vandan Yojana Offline Application Form can be collected from any of the below mentioned government offices :-
- Anganwadi Centres.
- Gram Panchayat or Ward Office.
- Child Development Project Officer Office. (CDPO)
- Or from Special Camps organized by the Government.
Collect the Mahatari Vandan Scheme Application Form from any of the above-mentioned offices and fill it in correctly without making any mistakes.
Attach all the asked documents with the application form.
Women applicants will have to submit the Mahatari Vandan Yojana Application Form along with all the documents in the same office from which the form was collected.
Respective government officials will enter the details of the women applicants on the portal with their login after thorough verification.
Selected Women List will also be published on the official website.
Rs. 1,000/- will be transferred in the aadhaar-linked bank account of the women applicant after final approval.

Sometimes women applicants face rejection of their application of the Mahtari Vandan scheme due to various reasons. Some of the rejection reasons with their solution are given below :-

Amount Exceeds Limit set on Account by Bank Account reaches the maximum Credit Limit set on the account by Bank	The bank sets the Credit Deposit Limit. Visit the Bank and increase the Credit Deposit Limit.
Account Holder Expire	Bank Account Holder is dead. Visit the Bank and Submit the Death Certificate. The nominee or Legal Heir can claim the amount. Inform the department.
Unclaimed DEAF Account YES NA	No Activity in Bank Account for a Long Time. Visit the Bank and Claim the Amount of the DEAF Account.
Documents Pending for Account Holder turning minor	Bank Account is of a Minor. Submit the Documents once the holder turns to 18.
