Introduction of Delhi Lakhpati Bitiya Yojana: A Brief Insight

  • The Chief Minister of Delhi, Smt. Rekha Gupta has announced a major welfare scheme for girls named Lakhpati Bitiya Yojana.
  • The Delhi Government will officially launch Lakhpati Bitiya Yojana in the state from 01-04-2026.
  • The main objective behind launching this scheme is to strengthen the financial security of girl children and encourage families to support their daughters’ education from birth to higher studies.
  • Department of Women and Child Development of the Delhi Government is the implementing department of this scheme.
  • Lakhpati Bitiya Yojana is a revamped and upgraded version of the existing Ladli Yojana, which the Delhi Government has been implementing since 2008.
  • BJP led Delhi Government’s Lakhpati Bitiya Yojana will replace the earlier Ladli Yojana framework and introduce a revised investment structure with higher maturity benefits for eligible beneficiaries.
  • Under the Lakhpati Bitiya Yojana, the Delhi Government will invest a total amount of Rs. 56,000/- in the name of each eligible girl beneficiary, which is 20,000/- more than the earlier scheme.
  • The government will invest this amount in a structured manner at different stages of the girl’s educational journey so that families receive timely support during important academic milestones.
  • After the maturity period ends, the beneficiary girl will receive more than Rs. 1,00,000/- as financial assistance which will help her pursue higher education or professional goals.
  • The Delhi Government will deposit the stage-wise investment amount with SBI Life Insurance to ensure secure growth and proper fund management.
  • Under the Lakhpati Bitiya Yojana, the benefits will follow a clear stage-based structure.
  • At the time of the birth of a girl child, the government will deposit Rs. 11,000/-.
  • At the primary and middle school level, the Delhi Government will deposit :-
    • Rs. 5,000/- when the girl takes admission in Class 1st.
    • Rs. 5,000/- when she takes admission in Class 6th.
    • Rs. 5,000/- when she takes admission in Class 9th.
  • At the secondary and senior secondary level, the government will deposit :-
    • Rs. 5,000/- after the girl passes the Class 10th examination.
    • Rs. 5,000/- when she takes admission in Class 12th.
  • Under higher education support, the government will deposit the following amount of assistance under the Lakhpati Bitiya Scheme :-
    • Rs. 5,000/- when the girl takes admission in a professional diploma course.
    • Rs. 5,000/- in the 1st year of graduation.
    • Rs. 5,000/- in the 2nd year of graduation.
    • Rs. 10,000/- in the 3rd year of graduation.
  • Only eligible beneficiaries can receive the maturity benefit of more than Rs. 1 lakh under Lakhpati Bitiya Yojana.
  • If the annual family income of the applicant exceeds Rs. 1,00,000/- per year then she is not eligible to enrol under Lthe akhpati Bitiya Scheme.
  • The government has already shared the basic eligibility criteria and general guidelines of Lakhpati Bitiya Yojana, but it has not announced the detailed application procedure yet.
  • Based on the structure of the Ladli Yojana eligible applicants will likely register online through the Delhi Government’s e-District Portal and for the offline mode, applicants can collect the application form from the District Offices of the Women and Child Development Department or from their nearest Anganwadi Centre and submit it after completing the required details.
  • Beneficiaries need to wait for the official launch of the scheme for final registration guidelines, and we will update the complete application process as soon as the government releases the official notification.

  • Delhi Government under its Lakhpati Bitiya Yojana will provide the following benefits to all eligible girl beneficiaries from her birth till she completes her higher education :-
    • The government will invest a total of Rs. 56,000/- in the name of the Girl Beneficiary.
    • The Amount of Assistance will be invested in multiple stages from birth till the completion of higher education.
    • Girl Beneficiary will receive more than Rs. 1,00,000/- after the maturity period got over.

Delhi Lakhpati Bitiya Yojana Information

Eligibility Conditions Required to be Fulfilled

  • Financial Assistance of more than Rs. 1 lakh at the time of maturity will be provided by the Delhi Government to only those beneficiaries who fulfil the below-mentioned eligibility criteria of Lakhpati Bitiya Yojana :-
    • The beneficiary girl should be a Permanent Resident of Delhi or should be residing in Delhi for 3 years.
    • The Girl Beneficiary’s birth should be in Delhi.
    • 2 Girl Applicant per Family is Eligible to Avail the Benefits.
    • The Annual Family Income of the Girl Applicant should not be more than Rs. 1,00,000/- per year.
    • The girl applicant should have received all the required immunisations.

  • The documents that are required at the time of availing the benefits provided by the Delhi Government under its Lakhpati Bitiya Yojana are mentioned below :-
    • Domicile or Residence Proof of Delhi.
    • Aadhaar Card of Girl Child.
    • Aadhaar Card of Parents.
    • Certificate of Caste. (If Applicable)
    • Joint Photograph of Mother, Father and Child.
    • Certificate of Income.
    • Mobile Number.
    • Birth Certificate of a Girl.

How Beneficiaries Can Apply to Avail the Benefit of this Scheme
