Introduction of Mahila Samriddhi Yojana: A Brief Insight

  • Bharatiya Janta Party announced lots of welfare schemes for the people of Delhi duringthe  assembly election of the year 2025.
  • The major pre-election promise of BJP for Delhi People are “Atal Canteen Yojana”, “Mukhyamantri Matritva Suraksha Yojana” and “Free LPG Gas Cylinders on Holi and Deepavali”, “and Mahila Samriddhi Yojana”.
  • Now on the occasion of International Women’s Day on 08-03-2025, BJP fulfilled its first promise to launch Mahila Samriddhi Yojana.
  • New formed Cabinet of the Delhi Government gave its formal approval to implement this financial assistance scheme in the NCT of Delhi.
  • The main objective behind starting this scheme is to help poor women financially so that they do not have to depend on others.
  • Monthly financial assistance to all eligible women beneficiaries will be provided under Mahila Samriddhi Yojana.
  • All women beneficiaries belonging to BPL Family having age of more than 21 years and below 60 years are eligible to get monthly financial assistance.
  • Rs. 2,500/- per month under Mahila Samriddhi Yojana will be provided to each woman beneficiary directly in their bank account.
  • Also if any women’s family annual income is more than Rs. 3 lakh per year then she is not eligible to apply for assistance under this scheme.
  • At the time of registration, women beneficiaries should have valid BPL Ration Card and Aadhaar Card.
  • The government formed a committee that draft the guidelines of the Mahila Samriddhi Yojana and released it very soon.
  • The objective of the committee is to oversee the process of implementation and development of a Website for E e-registration.
  • Delhi Government allocated Rs. 5,100/- crore for this scheme for its smooth implementation.
  • Women Beneficiary will have to Registration Online under this scheme through the Official Website of Mahila Samriddhi Yojana which is under development.
  • The other popular name of this scheme is “Mahila Samriddhi Scheme Delhi”.
  • The registration process for this scheme will soon begin.

Benefits Provided to Eligible Beneficiaries

  • Delhi Government will provide the below-mentioned benefits to all eligible women under its newly announced Mahila Samriddhi Yojana :-
    • Monthly Financial Assistance will be provided to Poor Women of Delhi.
    • Women Beneficiaries will get Rs. 2,500/- per month under Mahila Samriddhi Yojana.

Eligibility Conditions Required to be Fulfilled

  • Monthly Financial Assistance of Rs. 2,500/- under Mahila Samriddhi Yojana will only be provided to those women beneficiaries who fulfill the following eligibility criteria of scheme :-
    • Women should be Permanent Residents or Residents of Delhi for 5 years.
    • Women Beneficiary should belong to Below Poverty Line Family.
    • The Age of Women Beneficiary should be above 21 Years and below 60 Years.
    • Annual Family Income should not be more than Rs. 3 Lakh per year.
    • Women should not be beneficiaries of other welfare schemes.
    • There should be no Government Employee in the Family.
    • Having a BPL Card and an Aadhaar Card is mandatory.

  • Women Beneficiaries will have to attach the following documents at the time of availing the benefit of financial assistance of Rs. 2,500/- per month under Mahila Samriddhi Yojana of Delhi Government :-
    • Domicile Certificate or Any Residence Proof of Delhi.
    • Women’s Aadhar Card.
    • Color Passport Size Photo.
    • Voter Identity Card of Women.
    • Bank Account Details with IFSC Code.
    • Mobile Number of Beneficiary.
    • BPL Ration Card.
    • Certificate of Income.

How Beneficiaries Can Avail the Benefit of this Scheme

  • Mahila Samriddhi Yojana is a pre-election promise of the Bharatiya Janta Party for the people of Delhi.
  • Now we all know that BJP won the assembly election of Delhi and formed their government.
  • On 08-03-2025 on the occasion of International Women’s Day, BJP-led Delhi Government took the first steps towards implementation of Mahila Samriddhi Yojana in NCT of Delhi.
  • Cabinet gave their approval to implement this scheme on 08-03-2025.
  • The initial eligibility criteria of the Mahila Samriddhi Yojana is also revealed.
  • The concerned Department will very soon draft the guidelines.
  • Registration under the Mahila Samriddhi Yojana will also start soon.
  • At present the registration mode is not revealed by the government.
  • According to government sources, the Official Website of Mahila Samriddhi Yojana is also under development.
  • Mahila Samriddhi Yojana Application process will be known once the guidelines are released by the concerned department.
  • Beneficiary Women will have to wait a little bit more in order to get Rs. 2,500/- per month under this scheme.
