Punjab Ashirwad Scheme

Ashirwad Scheme of Punjab Government was started in the year 2004. Financial Assistance for marriage will be provided under this scheme. Rs. 51,000/- will be provided to all eligible brides of Punjab under Ashirwad Scheme. Read the full article to get to know about this scheme.

Introduction of Ashirwad Scheme

• Punjab is a well versed state financially but some of the faction of society are still living in below poverty line.
• Those sections of society has lot of responsibilities on them regarding their family survival.
• And if their is an unmarried girl in a family then the financial responsibility of marriage is also added as well.
• Many people are not financially well to conduct the affairs of marriage as per their wishes.
• So to support them financially Government of Punjab provides financial assistance to them under Punjab Ashirwad Scheme.
• It was initially started in 1st of April 1997 as “Shagun Scheme”.
• That time the financial assistance under this scheme was Rs. 5,100/- (Fifty One Hundred Rupees Only).
• Then on 26^th of January 2004, there was a rise of “Punjab Ashirwad Scheme”.
• Government of Punjab relaunches the “Shagun Scheme” after renaming it as “Punjab Ashirwad Scheme”.
• The financial assistance was also revised from Rs. 5,100/- (Fifty One Hundred Rupees Only) to Rs. 6,100/- (Sixty One Hundred Rupees Only) at the time of relaunch.
• Then after 3 years on 1^st of April 2006, Government of Punjab increased the financial assistance under Punjab Ashirwad Scheme from Rs. 6,100/- (Sixty One Hundred Rupees Only) to Rs. 15,000/- (Fifteen Thousand Rupees Only).
• On 1^st of July 2017, Government of Punjab again revises the amount of Punjab Ashirwad Scheme from Rs. 15,000/- (Fifteen Thousand Rupees Only) to Rs. 51,000/- (Fifty Thousand Rupees Only).
• Two Girls per family are eligible to avail the benefit of financial assistance under Punjab Ashirwad Scheme.
• The Annual Family Income of Applicant from all sources should be Rs. Rs. 32,790/- (Thirty Two Thousand Seven Hundred Ninety Rupees Only).
• Punjab Ashirwad Scheme is also known as “Punjab Marriage Assistance Scheme”.
• Punjab Government’s Department of Social Justice & Empowerment and Minorities is the nodal department of this scheme.
• Eligible Brides of Punjab State can apply for Punjab Ashirwad Scheme also known as Punjab Marriage Assistance Scheme by Submitting Online Application Form on Punjab Ashirwad Scheme Official Website.
• Beneficiaries can also submit an Offline Application Form of Punjab Ashirwad Scheme alias Punjab Marriage Assistance Scheme in the Office of District Welfare Officer.

Eligibility Conditions of Ashirwad Scheme

• The following eligibility conditions is set by Punjab Government to avail the benefit of financial assistance for Marriage under Punjab Ashirwad Scheme alias Punjab Ashirwad Scheme :-
  

  Bride should be a permanent resident of State of Punjab. Age of Bride should be 18 Years or Above. The Annual Family Income of Bride should not be more than Rs. 32,790/- per Year. Brides belonging to the below mentioned category are only eligible to apply for financial asssitance for marriage under Punjab Ashirwad Scheme :- Schedule Caste. Christian. Muslim. Backward Class. Economically Backward Class. Daughter of Widow’s. Re-marriage of Schedule Caste Widows or Divorcee.

Documents Required for Ashirwad Scheme

• The following documents will be mandatorily required to avail the financial assistance for Marriage under Punjab Ashirwad Scheme alias Punjab Marriage Assistance Scheme :-
  

  Domicile of Punjab. Aadhar Card of Bride and Applicant. Invitation Card of Marriage. Age Proof of Bride. Education Related Documents of Bride. Caste Certificate. Income Certificate of Family. Bank Account Details of Applicant. Bride Passport Size Photograph. BPL Card. (If Applicable)

Online Application Procedure of Ashirwad Scheme

• Bride herself or someone on their behalf can apply for financial assistance for marriage under Punjab Ashirwad Scheme alias Punjab Marriage Assistance Scheme through Punjab Ashirwad Scheme Official Website.
• Applicant has to Register themselves on the Website.
• Fill the Applicant Details and Bride Details in the Registration Form.
• After Submission of Registration Form, Applicant will receive a User Name and Password on their Mobile Number and Email.
• Login in the Punjab Ashirwad Scheme Portal with the received User Name and Password.
• Fill the below mentioned details step wise :-
  • Personal Details.
  • Contact Details.
  • Marriage Details.
  • Upload the Documents.
• Click on Submit button to finally submit the Application Form of Punjab Ashirwad Scheme.
• Application Form along with the documents will be forwarded for verification to District Welfare Officers.
• After Verification, the financial assistance of Rs. 51,000/- (Fifty Thousand Rupees Only) for the marriage of Brides of Punjab will be transferred in the given bank account.

Offline Application Procedure of Ashirwad Scheme

• Eligible Brides can also apply for financial assistance under Punjab Ashirwad Scheme alias Punjab Marriage Assistance Scheme by submitting Offline Application of Punjab Ashirwad Scheme.
• Application Form will be collected free of cost from the office of District Welfare Officer.
• Take the Application Form, Fill it Correctly and attach all the required documents with it.
• Submit the Application Form of Punjab Ashirwad Scheme along with all the documents in the office of District Welfare Officer.
• District Welfare Officer will scrutinized the received application form thoroughly.
• Financial Assistance under Punjab Ashirwad Scheme will be transferred in the given bank account of Bride after verification.
