Introduction of Telangana 2BHK Housing Scheme: A Brief Insight

• Telangana Government runs lots of welfare scheme for the welfare the of people of Telangana State.
• Every scheme targets the deprived low-income group to lift their standard of living.
• In October 2015, the Government of Telangana started a major welfare scheme for the people of Telangana named as 2BHK Housing Scheme.
• The main aim behind launching this scheme is to give free of cost home to homeless people of Telangana State.
• As we all know a house is a very expensive affair which requires lakhs of money.
• A lots of people in Telangana State a a low-income group family and belong to the ow poverty line makes them vulnerable to making their own houses.
• Keeping these things in mind, the Government of Telangana steps forward to fulfil the dream of people owning a house by providing free-of-cost houses to people.
• Telangana State Housing Corporation Limited is the Nodal Agency of this scheme.
• Under, 2BHK Housing Scheme, the Government of Telangana will provide free-of-cost houses to homeless people.
• People living in Rented Accommodation, Kuccha House or Huts are eligible beneficiaries under 2BHK Housing Scheme.
• There are no registration fees, no security deposit or a loan required to avail of the benefits of this scheme.
• This scheme will be implemented in phased manner, and in the initial phase Greater Hyderabad M, a unicipal Corporatidecideddes to build 2,80,000/- (Two Lakh Eighty Thousand) Houses in the Telangana State.
• Houses built under this scheme consist of:-
  • 2 Bedroom.
  • 1 Hall.
  • 1 Kitchen.
  • 2 Bathroom.
  • 2 Loft for Storage.
• Beneficiaries belong to Schedule Caste, Schedule Tribe and Minorities are eligible to apply under Telangana 2BHK Housing Scheme.
• Telangana Government now started new housing scheme named “Indiramma Indlu Housing Scheme” in which financial assistance of Rs. 5 lakh will be provided for construction of house.
• Eligible Beneficiaries can apply for this scheme through 2BHK Housing Scheme Application Form.

Benefits Provided to Eligible Beneficiaries

• The government of Telangana will provide following benefits to eligible beneficiaries under 2BHK Housing Scheme :-
  

  Free of Cost 2BHK House will be provided. House have 2 Bedroom, Hall, Kitchen and 2 Bathroom.

Eligibility Conditions Required to be Fulfilled

• The following eligibility conditions is fixed by the Telangana Government to avail the benefit of 2BHK Housing Scheme :-
  

  Applicant belongs to Below Poverty Line (BPL) Families. Families must have Food Security Card or Ration Card. Applicant Family must be living in the following houses :- Kuccha House. Rented Home. Huts. Applicant should belong to any of the following categories:- Schedule Tribe (ST). Schedule Caste (SC). Minorities.

• The following documents will be mandatorily required to apply for house under Telangana Government’s 2BHK Housing Scheme:-
  

  Food Security Card/ Ration Card. Aadhar Card of Applicant. Voter Identity Card of Applicant. Applicant’s Caste Certificate. Income Certificate of Family. Disability Certificate. (If Applicant is Disabled). Ex Servicemen Card. (For Ex Servicemen Applicant). Bank Account Details of Applicant.

Distribution of Houses under Scheme

• Constructed Houses under Telangana 2BHK Housing Scheme are distributed among Schedule Caste, Schedule Tribe and Minorities according to the following percentage out of Total Constructed Houses :-
  

  Rural Area:- Rs. 1,04,000/- is House Construction Cost. Rs. 1,25,000/- is for Infrastructure. Rs, 6,29,000/- is the Total Cost of the Built House. Urban Area :- Rs. 5,30,000/- is House Construction Cost. Rs. 75,000/- is for Infrastructure. Rs, 6,05,000/- is the Total Cost of the Built House. Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation G+3:- Rs. 7,00,000/- is House Construction Cost. Rs. 75,000/- is for Infrastructure. Rs, 7,75,000/- is the Total Cost of the Built House. Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation C+S+9:- Rs. 7,90,000/- is House Construction Cost. Rs. 75,000/- is for Infrastructure. Rs, 8,65,000/- is the Total Cost of the Built House.

Cost of House Under Scheme

• The total cost incurred on houses constructed under 2BHK Housing Scheme of Telangana Government are as follows :-
  

  Rural Area:- 50% for Schedule Tribe and Schedule Caste. 7% for Minorities. 43% for Others Eligible Beneficiaries. Urban Area:- 17% for Schedule Caste. 6% for Schedule Tribe. 12% for Minorities. 65% for Other Eligible Beneficiaries.

How Beneficiaries Can Apply to Avail the Benefit of this Scheme

• Eligible Beneficiaries Applicants can apply for the 2BHK Housing Scheme through the Application Form.
• 2BHK Housing Scheme Application Form will be collected free of cost from Mandal Office or Gram Sabha Office of their area.
• Fill the application form properly and attached the required documents.
• Submit the Application Form along with all the required documents in the same Mandal Office or Gram Sabha Office.
• Gram Sabha Officer or Mandal Officer will scrutinize the received application form and documents.
• Then the application form and documents will be forwarded to Tehsildar for further approval.
• After Tehsildar approval the application form will be forwarded to the office of District Collector for final approval.
• Once the District Collector approved the application form, the list of eligible beneficiaries will be made available in the office of Gram Sabha or Mandal Office.
• Selected Beneficiaries then called to Gram Sabha or Mandal Office and the allotment letter of houses will be provided to them.

  • Water Supply Fitting.
  • Electricity Fitting.
  • Approach Road and Internal Road.
  • Drains.
  • Sewage Pipes.
• Cost of the construction of houses will be borne by the Government of Telangana.
• Houses constructed under the 2BHK Housing Scheme wife were constructed per the approved plan.
• If the beneficiary wants some changes in construction then the additional cost will be borne by the beneficiary.
