Introduction of Subhadra Scheme Odisha: A Brief Insight

  • Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi launched the Subhadra Scheme in Odisha on the 17th of September 2024.
  • The main objective of the Odisha Government behind launching this scheme in the state is to empower women financially and make them self-reliant in terms of money.
  • This scheme is implemented by the Women and Child Development Department of the Odisha Government.
  • The government will provide financial assistance of Rs. 50,000/- under the Subhadra Scheme to all eligible women beneficiaries disbursed in 5 years.
  • Each year for 5 years, women beneficiaries will get financial assistance of Rs. 10,000/- per year.

  • If any family doesn’t have an  NFSA or SFSS Ration Card, they are also eligible to apply for the Subhadra Scheme if their annual family income is less than Rs. 2,50,000/- in a year.
  • Financial Assistance under the Subhadra Scheme will be transferred directly into the Aadhaar Linked Bank Account of the female beneficiary.

Benefits Provided to Eligible Beneficiaries

  • Each eligible woman beneficiary of the State will the the following benefits from the Odisha Government under the Subhadra Scheme :-
    • Women Beneficiary will get Financial Assistance of Rs. 50,000/- for 5 Years.
    • Each Year, Women beneficiaries will get Rs. 10,000/- under the Subhadra Scheme.
    • This Rs. 10,000/- per year will also be disbursed in 2 equal installments of Rs. 5,000/- each.
    • First Installment will be provided on International Women’s Day on 8th March, and Second Installment will be provided on Raksha Bandhan.
    • For Digital Transactions, Subhadra ATM-cum-Debit Card will also be given to Women Beneficiary.
    • 100 Women Beneficiaries in each Gram Panchayat/ Urban Local Body will get an additional incentive of Rs. 500/- for maximum digital transactions in the year.

Eligibility Conditions Required to be Fulfilled

  • Government of Odisha sets the following eligibility conditions for women beneficiaries in order to provide them the benefit of yearly financial assistance under the  Subhadra Scheme :-
    • The beneficiary should be a Woman who is a Permanent Resident of Odisha.
    • The Age of Women Beneficiaries should be more than 21 years and less than 60 years.
    • Women Beneficiary Date of Birth should be between 02/07/1964 to 01/07/2003.
    • Having a National Food Security Ration Card (NFSA) or State Food Security Scheme Ration Card (SFSS) is mandatorily required.
    • If Any woman beneficiary doesn’t have an NFSA or SFSS Ration Card then she is also eligible to apply if her family’s annual income is less than Rs. 2,50,000/-.

Ineligibility Conditions

  • If any woman beneficiary falls within the ambit of any of the below-mentioned ineligibility criteria of the Subhadra Scheme, then she is not eligible to apply for financial assistance :-
    • If any woman is a beneficiary of any pension or scholarship scheme in which she is receiving Rs. 1,500/- per month, assistance is not eligible.
    • State or Central Government Employee. (Both Retired or Serving)
    • If any member of a family is an income tax payer.
    • If a woman’s family has a former or current MP or MLA.
    • If the Beneficiary Women’s Family has more than 10 Acres of Non-Irrigated Land or 5 Acres of Irrigated Land.
    • If the Family has 4 4-wheeler vehicle. (Tractors, Mini Trucks, and Small Commercial Vehicles are exempted)

  • Women Beneficiaries who are not registered under the Subhadra Scheme of the Odisha Government can register themselves till the 31st of March 2025.
  • Registration of Women will be done through the Offline Application Form.
  • Application Forms can be collected free of cost from any of the following offices :-
    • Common Service Centres.
    • Anganwadi Centres.
    • Block Offices.
    • Urban Local Bodies Offices.
    • MO Seva Kendras.
    • Gram Panchayat/ Sabha Office.
  • Collect the Application Form of the Subhadra Scheme and Fill it correctly without making any mistakes.
