Uttarakhand Mukhyamantri Mahalaxmi Kit Scheme

The Uttarakhand Government’s Mukhyamantri Mahalaxmi Kit Scheme was launched in 2021 to provide primary healthcare support to ensure lactating women and their children receive proper nutritional care. The Mahalaxmi Kit will provide 11 Items for the mother and 11 items for the child. Beneficiary women can enroll themselves under the Mukhyamantri Mahalaxmi Kit Scheme of Uttarakhand by visiting the nearest Anganwadi Centre.

Introduction of Mukhyamantri Mahalaxmi Kit Scheme: A Brief Insight

• Uttarakhand Government started and successfully runs lots of welfare schemes in the State.
• All the factions of society is getting benefits from those schemes.
• One of the schemes for the welfare of newborn children and mothers is the “Mukhyamantri Mahalaxmi Kit Scheme”.
• It was started by the Uttarakhand Government in the year 2021.
• The main objective behind launching the Mukhyamantri Mahalaxmi Kit Scheme is to improve the infant mortality rate and maternal mortality rate in the state.
• Uttarakhand Government’s Department of Women and Child Development is the responsible department of this scheme.
• Government of Uttarakhand provided day care items for the newborn Child and her Mother under the Mukhyamantri Mahalaxmi Kit Yojana.
• Mahalaxmi Kit contains 11 items for the Mother and 11 items for the newborn child.
• Women beneficiary who delivers the newborn child are only eligible to get the kit under the Mukhyamantri Mahalakshmi Kit Scheme.
• It is mandatory to apply for the Mahalaxmi Kit within 6 months of the Child Birth.
• The Annual Family Income of Women Beneficiaries should not be more than Rs. 60,000/- per year to be eligible under this scheme.
• The benefit of this scheme will apply only to 2 children per Family.
• There is no online application procedure of the Mukhyamantri Mahalaxmi Kit Scheme available right now.
• Eligible Women Beneficiaries can apply for the Mahalaxmi Kit by filling out the Offline Application Form of the Uttarakhand Mukhyamantri Mahalaxmi Kit Scheme.
• Application Form of Mahalaxmi Kit Scheme is available free of cost at any Anganwadi Centers, and Anganwadi Workers will help the beneficiary women to get registered.
• Women beneficiaries can contact their area’s Anganwadi Worker for further assistance and to apply for the Mukhyamantri Mahalakshmi Kit Scheme.
• Pregnant Women can also apply for “Mukhyamantri Mahila Poshan Yojana” of the Uttarakhand Government and “PM Matru Vandana Scheme” of Central Government in the same Anganwadi Centre.

Mahalaxmi Kit contains the following items for the Mother of a Child:- Item Quantity Dry Dates 500 Gram Almonds 250 Gram Shawl 1 Socks 2 Pairs Bedsheet with Pillow Cover 2 Towel 1 Sanitary Napkin 2 Packs Bathing Soap 4 Cloth-Washing Soap 4 Nail Cutter 1 Mustard Oil Half Liter Mahalaxmi Kit contains the following items for a Newborn Child :- Item Quantity Warm Cloths 2 Pair Socks and Warm Head Cap 1 Baby Soap 3 Baby Oil 1 Baby Powder 1 Baby Cream 1 Baby Towel 2 Baby Blanket 1 Rubber Sheet 1 Baby Diaper 10 Cotton Napkin 12

Eligibility Conditions Required to be Fulfilled

• The following eligibility conditions are set by the Government of Uttarakhand to provide the benefits of the Mukhyamantri Mahalaxmi Kit Scheme to eligible beneficiaries :-
  

  The applicant should be a woman. Women beneficiaries should be Permanent residents of Uttarakhand. The Annual Family Income of Women Family should not be more than Rs. 60,000/- per year. Women Beneficiaries should have a Newborn Child.

• The following documents are required to get the Mahalaxmi Kit under the Uttarakhand Government’s Mukhyamantri Mahalaxmi Kit Scheme:-
  

  Residence Proof of Uttarakhand. Aadhar Card of Women Beneficiary. PAN Card of Women Beneficiary. Husband Aadhaar Card. Hospital Discharge Certificate. Ration Card. (If Available)

How Beneficiaries Can Apply to Avail the Benefit of this Scheme

• There is a very easy process to apply and get the Mahalaxmi Kit under the Uttarakhand Mukhyamantri Mahalaxmi Kit Scheme.
• Beneficiary Women of Uttarakhand have to visit their nearest Anganwadi Center.
• The Application Form of Mukhyamantri Mahalaxmi Kit Scheme is available free of cost at Anganwadi Centers.
• Take the Application Form from the Anganwadi Worker and fill it carefully.
• Attach all the required documents with it.
• And submit the Application Form along with all the documents to the Anganwadi Worker.
• Anganwadi Worker forwards the Application Form of Uttarakhand Mukhyamantri Mahalaxmi Kit Scheme to the Department of Women and Child Development of Uttarakhand.
• After verification, Mahalaxmi Kit will be distributed among women beneficiaries in the Anganwadi Center.
• At the time of pregnancy, pregnant women can also register for the Central Government’s Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojana and the Government of Uttarakhand’s Mukhyamantri Mahila Poshan Yojana.
