Introduction of Mahalakshmi Scheme: A Brief Insight
- At the time of the assembly election in the year 2023, Congress Party announced lots of welfare scheme for the benefits of people.
- After winning election, every single scheme has been implemented by Congress Party in Telangana.
- One of the major scheme which has implemented for the welfare of women is “Mahalakshmi Scheme”.
- Women Development and Child Welfare Department is the responsible department of this scheme.
- Mahalakshmi Scheme of Telangana Government is the combination of 3 different schemes which are given below :-
- “Mahalakshmi Financial Assistance Scheme”.
- “Mahalakshmi LPG Gas Cylinder Subsidy Scheme”.
- “Mahalakshmi Free Bus Travel Scheme”.
- The main objective behind starting Mahalakshmi Scheme is to make women of Telangana financially self reliant.
- Government will provide monthly financial assistance of Rs. 2,500/- to all eligible women beneficiaries so that they can easily manage their day care expenses.
- Apart from that One Domestic LPG Gas Cylinder per month will also provided to women beneficiaries at the rate of Rs. 500/- on subsidy.
- And women beneficiaries can also travel free of cost in any Pallevelugu and Express Buses of Telangana State Road Transportation Corporation within the state boundary of Telangana.
- A valid idendity proof is only required at the time of travelling in buses.
- BPL Ration Card for financial assistance and Valid Domestic LPG Gas Connection for Gas Subsidy is required mandatorily under Mahalakshmi Scheme.
- Women Beneficiary can Apply for Mahalakshmi Scheme and avail the benefit of monthly financial assistance of Rs. 2,500/-, Gas Cylinder at Rs. 500/- and free of cost travel in buses.
- Mahalakshmi Scheme Application Form is available free of cost in Gram Panchayat/ Sabha or Municipal Corporation Office.
- Government of Telangana didn’t launch any Website of Mahalakshmi Scheme nor any Online Application Mode is available.
Benefits Provided to Eligible Women Beneficiaries
- Women Beneficiaries of Telangana will get the below mentioned benefits under Mahalakshmi Scheme :-
- Eligible Women will get Monthly Rs. 2,500/- Financial Assistance.
- LPG Gas Cylinder will be Provided at Rs. 500/- per Cylinder per Month.
- Women Beneficiary will Travel Free of Cost within State Boundary in Pallevelugu and Express Buses.
Eligibility Conditions Required to be Fulfilled
- Benefits under the Mahalakshmi Scheme of Government of Telangana will only provided to those women beneficiaries who fulfill the below mentioned eligibility conditions of scheme :-
- Only Permanent Resident Women Beneficiaries of Telangana are Eligible to Apply.
- For Gas Subsidy, there should be a Valid LPG Domestic Gas Connection at Women’s House.
- Women Beneficiary should have BPL Ration Card.
- Women Beneficiary can Travel Free of Cost by showing Valid Identity Card.
Documents Required to be Attached
- Women Beneficiary will have to attached the below mentioned documents with the Application Form of Mahalakshmi Scheme :-
- Domicile of Telangana or Any Residence Proof.
- Aadhar Card of Women.
- BPL Ration Card.
- Passport Size Photo of Women Beneficiary.
- Family Income Certificate.
- Receipt of Domestic LPG Gas Connection.
- Bank Account Number and IFSC Code.
How Beneficiaries Can Avail the Benefit of this Scheme
- There is a common Application Form of Mahalakshmi Scheme of Telangana Government through which women can apply and avail the benefit of all 3 schemes.
- Beneficiary Women can collect the Mahalakshmi Scheme Application Form from any of the below mentioned offices :-
- Gram Panchayat/ Sabha Office.
- Municipal Corporation Office.
- District Office of Women Development and Child Welfare.
- Or Women Beneficiary can also Download the Application Form from our Website.
- Collect the Mahalakshmi Scheme Application Form and fill the personal, contact and bank account details carefully.
- Documents will also have to be attached with the Application Form.
- Review the filled details and Submit the Application Form along with documents in the same office from where the form was collected.
- Officials of Women Development and Child Welfare Department will verify the recieved application forms of Mahalakshmi Scheme.
- Eligible Women Beneficiaries will be sort out and an SMS will be sent to them regarding approval of application form.
- Application Status of Mahalakshmi Scheme can also be checked by visiting the Gram Panchayat/ Sabha Office.
- It is to be hereby noted that there is No Official Portal/ Website of Mahalakshmi Scheme available through which women beneficiary can apply online.
